Our 6 person holiday home from 1828 has a walled courtyard of 80m2. In the garden is a covered terrace with a large dining table and a hydro relax pool (3x2x0.70) for bubbling or relaxing in the sun. Here are also the 2 ancient caves on which our house is built.

On the ground floor is a 2 pers. garden room with private bathroom (toilet and sink), wardrobe and a four-poster bed (1.40 x 2.00) with mosquito net. View from the room on the relaxation pool. You reach the living floor via the outside staircase.

At the top of the stairs is a terrace to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. You enter the house through the kitchen. This is equipped with a dishwasher, gas stove, 2 refrigerators (1 with a freezer compartment) and a combi microwave / oven, crockery, cutlery, Nespresso machine, kettle, toaster, hand blender, crockery, pans, towels. (hand soap, washing up liquid, washing-up brush available) A delicious bottle of rosé Gris de Gris is waiting for you in the fridge as a welcome. We have an extra water filter so that the tap water is drinkable.

Through the kitchen you walk into the attractive dining room with a 6-person dining table.

From the dining room you enter the bedroom with 2 pers. four-poster bed (1.60 x 2.00) with mosquito net. Here is also a wardrobe and a work cupboard containing cleaning utensils and a washing machine. (detergent, drying rack, ironing board, iron, vacuum cleaner and cleaning products are provided).

On the other side of the kitchen you walk into the cozy living room with 2 x 2.5 seater sofas, a fireplace and TV. The house has satellite TV with Dutch channels. There is also a Sonos Bluetooth speaker for connection to your own Spotify. Wifi is also available as well as extra wifi amplifiers.

From the living room you enter the hall with access to the spacious bathroom with toilet, spacious rain shower and sink. (hairdryer, towels large and small available, bring your own towels).

Via the stairs in the hall you reach the beautiful loft with four-poster bed (1.60 x.200, with 2 x 1 pers mattresses and 2 x 1 pers duvets.) There is also a clothes rack.

There is a camp bed (with mosquito net, flannel and bottom sheet), baby bath with standard and high chair available. Bring your own baby sleeping bag. Please note, there is only a stair gate at the top of the outside stairs. The 3 bedrooms are each on a different floor. The relax pool is 70 cm high and has no fence. We ourselves find the house less suitable for small children, use with children is entirely at your own risk.

The house is non-smoking. The house has 50-60 cm thick walls and shutters to keep the house cool in the summer, there are also 3 windmills. For the colder days there is a fireplace and there is heating in the winter.

The village is car-free (parking 170 m from the house in the parking lot), the streets are very tight (narrowest part 1.80 wide) but you can get to the house for loading and unloading. We also have a foldable handcart for the gear if you find that more convenient.

We bought the house at the end of January 2020 and renovated for months. In the meantime we have been wonderfully received by the residents of the village. Families with young children also live here, which is a nice mix with the older residents and which means that there is always a pleasant life in the village. People are open to a chat, but if you don't need that, that's fine too. You can turn to anyone for help. In the evenings, the young families regularly gather at the viewpoint at the end of the street (75 m) where they enjoy the sunset while enjoying a drink. The children play in the street, in short, a pleasant affair. Be sure to enjoy the view yourself, take a bag with a drink and treats and relax. There are regular performances in the castle in the summer. In short, a cozy and warm village where you can still see the artists at work.

In the summer there is a guingette (restaurant under a thatched roof), a luxury restaurant and a creperie. The supermarket, gas station and doctor are 1 km down the hill. In the village of Goudargues 2.5 km are many restaurants and terraces. Beautiful hiking trails start past the church in our village and you can wander for hours in the woods and across the vineyards. Cycling, mountain biking, horseback riding, quad biking, 4x4 driving, swimming, canoeing, paragliding, caving, abseiling, climbing park, yoga, petanque, panning for gold, wine tasting, everything can be done in the area.

At 2.5 km is the river Ceze with many beaches for swimming and relaxing. The cities of Uzes, Avignon, Nimes, Montpellier and the Ardeche are 40-60 minutes away. At 117 km you are by the sea in La Grande Motte. We have a guest book with even more info in the house.

Our caretaker Audrey Legger arranges the reception and is available for questions and problems. She also cleans the relaxation pool once a week. For stays longer than a week you can also book extra cleaning with her.
