Matisse Chapel in Vence
Marineland is the largest marine park in Europe alongside the dolphins, sharks, walruses, etc. The amazing orcas a spectacular "air show" business.
There are also including a colony of penguins and many species of raptors.

Furthermore, Marineland also a petting zoo and miniature golf.

If you have children you will have 1 day visit probably not enough.
Les Georges du Verdon is near Moustiers St. Marie (famous for its beautiful painted pottery and tablecloths = faience), over 1.5 hours drive from St. Jeannet.

The George Verdon is similar to the American Grand Canyon, obviously a lot smaller, but equally beautiful. We dare to say that because we have visited them both extensively.

It is a beautiful gorge with unforgettable views, you can create a 3-hour scenic drive route, a boat trip with a whisper in the canyon make parachuting etc.

Furthermore, you have great chance to see raptors, eagles, vultures and crows big mountain.
The Parc Mercantour is a huge nature reserve that starts at 50 km from the coast and covers an area of ??700 km2. Part of the park is located in Italy.

Even in July and August it is very quiet in this area, most tourists are in close proximity to the coast.

The highest mountain is Mount Pelat (3051 meters).
In the center of the park is Mount Bego (2872 meters). This mountain is by locals as a sacred mountain seen, along with two valleys to the mountain, the Vallée des Merveilles and Vallée de Fontanalbe. In both valleys there are traces of the Bronze Age.

In one spot, more than 35,000 drawings found at an altitude between 2100 and 2600 meters, probably by shepherds from the environment in the years 1800 to 1500 BC. are carved. These figures of animals, people, weapons, tools and geometric figures. In 1989 this place was declared a natural monument.

There are also numerous hiking trails, including the famous GR52.
During your walk, the following animals come rain: gemzem, stoats, alpine ibex, mouflon and more hares, wild boars, alpenmarmotten, golden eagles, eagles, buzzards, etc.
The Baie des Anges (Bay of Angels ") is the name for the bay in the Mediterranean, from Nice to Antibes. Runs along the bay including the Promenade des Anglais and a beautiful pedestrian promenade and bike (21km long).

The beach consists mainly of gravel, with the exception of a few sandy beaches in Antibes and the private beaches with parasols and deck chairs at restaurants.
Eze perched on a cliff height of 427m with a magnificent view of the sea, coastline and mountains.

At that time the castle was at the top were many eagle nests (nid d'Aigle), now there is a beautiful exotic cactus garden, accessible vial narrow, picturesque and quaint narrow streets with interesting shops and studios.

Eze is located approximately 40 km from the St.Jeannet moyenne corniche.
The route to it via the Baie des Anges and the coast after Nice is so nice that you definitely will stop regularly.
The Esterel begins just beyond Cannes and going to St Raphael. A beautiful coastline of red cliffs, coves and impressive vistas.
This region has something to do with artists.
The fortified town in the 16th century by François I and has a rich history. On the main square, you pass the Auberge "La Colombe d'Or". This golden pigeon was in the twenties frequented by artists like Picasso, Soutine, Modigliani and Signac. They paid their stay and eat with artworks that they had made. The special feature of this inn is that their paintings and artwork still be admired.

The artist Army made such a mural on the walled terrace where a pigeon has been processed. We did want to see but the terrace was packed at lunchtime. Today "Le Colombe d'Or" is still a meeting place of artists and performers who come here for lunch or dinner.
From 7 July to 6 August Vence is again dominated by class "Nuits du Sud", many events including beautiful (sometimes free) concerts.

Spend this summer on a sunny Sunday morning a visit to Villefranche-sur-Mer where the small but cute "marche à la flea" is followed by lunch at gehouden.Ga "Carpaccio" in Villefranche and you will experience an unforgettable day.

Furthermore, some restaurant tips:
-Santa Lucia, a simple Italian in the Marina Baie des Anges in Villeneuve-Loubet Plage. very good, reasonable price and on the terrace overlooking the beautiful marina. The restaurant is closed on Sundays (tel: 0493731010).
-Llorca in La Colle sur Loup, a very good restaurant of the famous eponymous cook (Negresco and Moulin de Mougins), beautiful view of St.Paul and the valley. Reasonable price. Tel. 0493328220.
What you still doing here?
The famous slogan of Ryanair regularly offers cheap flights to Nice, among others. Those who like it once a week on from it is often for the price of a return NS Hague to Groningen within a half hour in Nice.
Out possibility from both Schiphol and from Rotterdam Airport.
The crisis also use car rental discount rates and over the Internet can put you at ease at home figuring out the cheapest company and make your reservation.
If traveling by car:

Directions to St.Jeannet, from the direction of Aix en Provence, A8:

Second exit after Antibes (No. 47; direction Vence)
Then continue towards Vence follow.
Just before Vence "center ville" but avoid deflecting slightly to the left: "toutes directions" (this is a roundabout, ready spring 2010).
Then direction "St.Jeannet / Gattieres) follow.
"A" After about 8 km at roundabout towards St. Jeannet follow at junction keep left, climbing from approximately 2 km to the village.
After parking on your left (marked "parking gratuit") very sharp right (= St.Petronille Promenade), absolutely do not ride because then it gets stuck in the center of St.Jeannet.
After 50M on bifurcation turn right, still the Promenade St.Petronille (left is Chateau Bresson).
Then after about 375m left, a small road that goes up (the right of this road is a sign that read "le Septentrion" and "425" (our number)).
After about 50M right (entrance between 2 tall hedges, see attached photo).

From the direction of Digne (RN202):

In Carros bridge over the river "Var" right (= Pont de la Manda).
At roundabout take 3rd road R (direction Gattières)
Next roundabout turn left (towards Gattières / St.Jeannet)
At roundabout straight Gattières (St.Jeannet)
Further route from "A" (see above).

Alternatively you can also take the TGV to Nice or (relatively cheap) to fly with Ryanair.
If you book well in advance you hire such a Renault Twingo for about Euro 24 per day.
