A lovely French cottage (we affectionately call it the 'forest cottage') in natural surroundings awaits you! Recently equipped with a hot tub you can relax here to the fullest!
The house consists of a living/sitting room, a cozy dining/living kitchen, a bathroom with shower and toilet and two bedrooms, one with a double bed (160x200) and one with a bunk bed (80x200). The kitchen has French doors to the large outdoor terrace.
In consultation, a camp bed with mattress and a high chair can be made available. There is also an inflatable pool for water fun for the little ones. A 15-minute drive away is a small lake where you can swim (with supervision). The Dordogne river is of course also close by and very suitable for swimming.
There is also a wooden log cabin on the property. Older children or other adults can also spend the night here, there is a 2 person bed and there is electricity. There is no sanitary facility and that is why we choose not to offer the log cabin as a permanent place to sleep. If you still wish, please let us know!
The terrain of approximately 3,000 m2 slopes uphill. The garden/grounds merge imperceptibly into the forest. The wild animals are often present around the house, so the deer or deer can just walk through the garden and an owl and/or squirrel can entertain you in the evening.
You can choose sun or shade, the many trees on the property provide cooling in the hot summer months! Of course, sun can also be found on the terrace or in the garden. The house remains very pleasantly cool anyway.
At a 5-10 minute drive you will find the village of Sainte-Alvère, where you will find a bakery and a supermarket, the bar tabac and two cozy restaurants. Every week there is a market on Mondays and on Sundays there is a pizza food truck on the square.
Deffé is not suitable for a wheelchair.
