Then our gite is perfectly suited to you. The gite is located 850 km from Breda in the Périgord.Our holiday home is located in the middle of rolling meadows and forests, at the end of a dead end road, on a terrain of 7,000m. The garden is a feast for the eyes, we dare to say that. You will find grapes, roses, plenty of wild plates and flowers.
We used as many authentic materials as possible during the renovation. Natural stone floors, old beams in sight etc.
Although the gite is so quietly located, the shops and restaurants can be reached within a few minutes. You are the only guest with us, as there are no other tenants on site. We find the gite most suitable for 2 people with possibly a small child. And your dog is also welcome. In the immediate vicinity you can enjoy walking and cycling. Furthermore, canoeing, fishing, golf and horseback riding etc.
Beautiful old towns such as Perigueux, Sarlat, Brives, Brantômes are well worth a visit, and are all within 50km.
In summer, there are many night markets with music, where the producers offer their wares and prepare them for you on the spot. People sit at long tables and enjoy a glass of wine and live music.
Not to mention the many flea markets in the immediate vicinity.
In the gite there are many addresses of restaurants in the area and tips for beautiful day trips. There are many castles and caves to visit, as well as cute real French towns and villages.
The Grotte de Tourtoirac is less than 10 minutes away!
In short, you will not be bored, but above all you will experience peace and privacy with us. Only the birds might wake you up in the morning, as there is no passing traffic.
The heated swimming pool of 5 x 12 m with a cover is in the sun all day, but shade can be found under the various parasols, the pergola with grapes and red roses and under the trees. There is a large lawn along the pool and several terraces of natural stone. There you can enjoy the view of the plants and the surrounding area.
The gite has on the ground floor the living area with open kitchen and dining area. The authentic beams and the natural stone floor create a rustic atmosphere. There is a two-seater sofa, two chairs and a large table. Of course a TV with all Dutch channels and free WiFi (now directly via fiber optics, so good reception). There is also a wood stove that you can use on chilly days in the early or late season. Free wood in the adjacent woodshed.
On the first floor there is a spacious bedroom of 2.5 x 6 m with two box springs (new in 2024) of 90 x 200 cm that can be separately next to each other or connected. There is also a large hanging / cupboard here.
We find the gite most suitable for 2 people with possibly a small child that fits in a cot. There is plenty of space for this. There is also a bathroom with bath and sink and a toilet in a separate room.
Outside in front of the gîte is a large stone BBQ that can also be used for a cozy campfire. There is also a so-called. Basterd BBQ that you can use for the slow-cookers among us.
