Canoeing & Caving - Drift along calm rivers, passing stunning countryside and historic castles and picturesque villages. Then, venture underground to explore fascinating caves filled with ancient rock formations, hidden chambers and prehistoric wonders.

Lakes & Wild Swimming - Natural swimming lakes offer sandy beaches, paddleboarding, and even inflatable water parks. Fishing lakes and riverside walks offer the perfect escape.

There's plenty of pure green space to relax. Cool off in the 9x4 meter swimming pool, float on an inflatable, sunbathe under Chestnut trees, enjoy outdoor games in the garden, or simply unwind on the terrace with a book, music, or a family board game as the sun sets. With our Wi-Fi, sharing your holiday moments is easy, and the night skies are incredible for stargazing accompanied by soulful owl hoots, whilst mornings are reserved for serenading birds.

‘Faune’ and ‘Flore’, each boast charming exteriors adorned with rustic stone walls and wooden shutters. Nestled amidst lush foliage and the colourful canvas of nature’s splendour, both gîtes offer sunbeds for basking in the sunlight and the opportunity for a refreshing dip in the pool whenever desired. Indulge in outdoor dining on the terrace or lawn, ignite the barbecue for a delightful evening, and unwind to the melodies of chirping birds at sunset, accompanied by a glass of wine and locally crafted cheese.

We’re Vincent & Paul, a Dutch/English couple that had a chance meeting in Sydney Australia many years ago. We decided on our 25th anniversary together to leave The Netherlands and move to The Dordogne, this region of France is stunningly beautiful and full to the brim with nature, has outstanding food, wine, culture and history.

Our aim is to offer a memorable and stress-free stay in one of our comfortably styled gîtes so you can have the best getaway, and we’d be delighted to host you.

A damage deposit is not required but we do ask you to treat the gites and surroundings with respect and responsibilty.

Yes, we’re wired, Wi-Fi and a portable Bluetooth speaker are provided for your enjoyment.A baby bed and chair is available upon request. Feel free to reach out if you need any further information or assistance.

And of course, we welcome your beloved furry friends, contact us if you’d like to bring along your cherished extended family members. During low season periods, it’s possible to reserve gîte Flore per night upon request and subject to availability. Simply get in touch with us to arrange this.

If a key is lost we charge 150 euros for replacement lock and hardware.

Cancelation: If the renter cancels the agreement in teh period up to 6 weeks before the start date of teh rental period, they shall owe 30% of the rental price; if canceled up to 4 weeks, 40% and from 2 weeks up to the start date of teh rental period, 90%.
If renter only informs the host on the starting date or during the rental period that they will no longer make use of the rented object, the full rental price is due.

Holiday an cancellation insurance: We recommend that renters take out holiday and cancelation insurance. This insurance can protect you against unforeseen circumstances.

THE DELICIOUS DORDOGNE :-
Vive le Vert provides the perfect base for exploring the enchanting Dordogne region, with its medieval castles, charming villages, and world-renowned cuisine. Whether seeking a romantic getaway or a family retreat, our gîtes offer an unforgettable experience amidst the beauty of the French countryside.
The un-spoilt nature of The Dordogne, Perigord invites you to go out and explore. There are many, well marked cycling and mountain biking routes. On many locations alongside the rivers you can rent canoes and start paddling, fun for the whole family.

Lake Grand Etang de St Estephe is close by and gives you lots of watersport-facilities. Also karting, quad biking, horse riding , playing golf is possible in the vicinity of the holiday houses.

RESTAURANTS, FOOD & WINE:
There are various restaurants, cafes and supermarkets of all kinds & levels in and around Vive le Vert, the choice is yours. Many vineyards and several winehouses are located around us where you can go, taste and buy the wines ”a la proprieté. Weekly there are local markets where you can buy fresh fruits, local delicacies, bread, cheeses, meat, olives etc. The market in our neighbouring village of Piegut is well known and attracts lots of visitors each Wednesday. It is just a short 15min drive from us and a real taste of French Dordogne life.

BROCANTE, ANTIQUE, BRIC A BRAC MARKETS:
For the avid collectors you can stroll around the many markets with antiquities, pottery, brocante and bric-a-brac, where they all sell food and drinks for the happy shoppers.

This part of the Dordogne, Perigord-limousine, is famous for its beef, foie gras, duck breasts, cheeses, chestnut products and truffles. You’ll find it on the menu of many local restaurants. Enjoy it together with the local wines , then surely your culinary experience has come to great satisfaction.

CULTURE:
Middle age villages and ancient cities inviting to visit. Old houses, churches, cathedrals and monuments take you back in time. For example Brantome is worth a visit, known as The Venice of the Dordogne, here you can shop at creative stalls on the market, visit the cathedral, sail on a boat or drink & dine at many of the riverside cafes and restraunts. There is also the old town of Perigueux, a gallo-roman city with a centre of small streets full of local shops, restaurants and market places in a historical setting.

Another city called Sarlat, in the centre of the Perigord-region is definitely worth to see, the entire city is like a monument. Then there is Bergerac know for its tasty wines and wine related points of interest.

Step into history and visit one of the many caves with splendid creations of stalactites and stalagmites, prehistoric dwellings, rock paintings etc. For example Grottes de Villars, Grotte de Rouffignac, La Roque St Christophe. Various castles are also open to the public, built in or upon rock formations, on stunning locations in the landscape and with special designed gardens around.

HOW TO FIND US:
Our gîtes are located on the edge of the picturesque village of Bussière-Badil.

It’s just a 5-hour drive from Paris to our piece of paradise in the gorgeous Dordogne.

Our nearest airports are at Limoges (1 hr) Bergerac (1 hr 47min) and Bordeaux (2 hrs) - all airports provide rental cars.

Our nearest train station is 45km away in Angoulême and a high-speed train connection between Paris and Bordeaux runs smoothly as well as the Eurostar from London to Bordeaux.
