We invite you to our cozy holiday home "Coquelicots" (120 m2):
Upon entering, there is a bright entrance with a spacious hall. Immediately you step left into the living room with a large dining area near the sliding windows. There is a cozy sitting area with a fireplace, a desk, a 2-seater sofa and a 3-seater sofa.
The French kitchen with island and bar stools is a great place to cook. The outdoor terrace on the veranda is easily accessible from the kitchen. On the veranda there is a lounge set and a dining table with chairs.
If you look down the corridor, there is a room with a wide single bed (1.30 m x 1.90 m) on the right. Next to it is the large bathroom with shower cubicle, bath, sink and toilet. The room with two single beds (0.80 m x 1.90) is adjacent to this. The last room is the master bedroom with a spacious box spring (1.80 x 2.00). Attached to this room is the second bathroom with shower, sink and toilet.
A staircase from the kitchen leads down to the garage and the laundry area where there is a washing machine and dryer. Also here is the fourth bedroom with two single beds (0.90 m x 2.00 m).
A playground has been created in the garage with a table tennis table, a football table, a pool table and other play equipment. The children will not be bored here at all! Not at all on the large trampoline and in the swimming pool that you reach via paths through the garden. The swimming pool (8.00 m x 4.00 m) can be heated outside the high season for an additional fee.
From the veranda and from the sloping garden of "Coquelicots" you have a view of the beautiful village of Beaumont-du-Périgord, one of the bastides in the Périgord Pourpre. It is quietly located on the edge of the wine regions and close to the Périgord Noir, the tourist part of the Dordogne. Other old bastide villages are a short drive away, such as Monpazier, Belvès, Eymet and Issigeac. The nearest cities are Périgieux, Sarlat-la Canéda and Bergerac, where there is an airport that can be reached within half an hour.
The Dordogne river offers many opportunities in terms of sports: an afternoon of kayaking, canoeing, a boat trip or city cruise, abseiling or swimming and fishing at one of the many (guarded) beaches. A very special experience is climbing the cliff face in the gardens of Marqueyssac: the Via Ferrata with a beautiful view of the river!
Within an hour's drive, countless activities can be found such as paragliding, skydiving, carting and the Vélorail.
The Dordogne is known for its medieval castles; There are many to visit and also great for children to discover! There are also beautiful landscaped gardens and nature parks that are worth a visit: often there are also picnic areas, which is ideal with children. Sights such as caves, rock dwellings, nice (open-air) museums are easy to drive to.
Various hiking maps can be found in the holiday home. Special hiking trails have been laid out throughout the Dordogne. Hiking trails even start almost from the yard of "Coquelicots", recognizable by the yellow wooden poles.
Around the corner is a riding school, where the children can ride horses and ponies. From here, horseback riding tours of the surrounding area are organised.
There is a tennis court at the campsite in the village, which can be used for a small fee.
Less than half an hour's drive will take you to the heart of the wine region around Bergerac and Monbazillac, the Dordogne Valley. You will not have enough time to taste all the delicious local wines at the chateaux. The beautiful castle of Monbazillac is definitely worth a visit! In our holiday home you will find plenty of information about wine tastings and the wine routes in the region.
In the restaurants in Beaumont-du-Périgord, Monpazier and many other villages in the Périgord, delicious regional dishes are served. You will also find recommendations and information for this in our holiday home to experience an unforgettable evening out for dinner!
