Welcome to our dream holiday home near Chalais, France! Perched on a hilltop between the beautiful Cognac region and the enchanting Dordogne, this holiday home offers everything you need for an unforgettable holiday. Whether you are traveling with a large family, two families, or with grandparents, this house is the perfect base.

  • Spacious accommodation: The house has four spacious bedrooms and three neat bathrooms, all on the ground floor. Each bedroom offers space for 2 guests. So the size is ideal for up to eight people. There is also plenty of space to pitch a tent in the garden for extra guests (on request).
  • Modern amenities: Enjoy a fully equipped open kitchen with dishwasher, very spacious refrigerator, Nespresso machine and even a panini maker. Adjacent is the cozy dining and living room with wood stove and equipped with television with Chromecast so you can continue to watch your Netflix series. 
  • Private pool: Relax by your own private pool of 4 by 8 meters, perfect for sunny days, adjacent with a luxurious wooden deck with sunbeds and parasol. 
  • Lovely terrace: The terrace, with cozy dining table is covered and also has a barbecue. Ideal for lovely long warm (summer) evenings. 
  • Nice spacious view: The plot of 2000 m² offers an unobstructed view over the surrounding (sunflower) fields and the castle of Chalais. The house is secluded on a hill, which gives a wonderful feeling of privacy. 
Facilities at the Domaine
  • Exclusivity and security: The house is part of a private domain with fifteen houses, equipped with an electrically opened entrance gate for your safety and privacy.
  • Sports activities: On the property there are two tennis courts, a table tennis table, jeu-de-boule court and children's playground for sports relaxation.
Ideal location

The house is located less than a kilometer from the village of Chalais. It is possible to walk or cycle to the village for a delicious croissant at the local bakery. The village also offers a large supermarket, which is ideal for larger groceries. You can reach the village in about 3 minutes by car.  
Chalais is located in the Charente region, which is known for its rolling hills with sunflowers or vines, nice towns and the wonderful climate. 
From the house you can go to both the Cognac region and the Dordogne by car. Both regions are known for their delights and possibilities. This makes it the ideal location for wine lovers and adventurers who want to enjoy the best that France has to offer. 
Larger towns nearby include Bordeaux (about an hour's drive), Perigueux (about an hour's drive). But certainly also the small villages and towns in the area offer a lot of fun and culture. Think of Aubeterre sur Dronne, with its famous underground church, Angoulême and St Emilion with its world-famous wines! 
The village also has a train station. You can easily reach Angoulême and Bordeaux by train.

Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

The landlord will charge the following amounts, depending on the date of written cancellation by the tenant:
  • In case of cancellation from 90 days (inclusive) to 42 days (exclusive) before the start of the rental period: 30% of the rental price
  • In case of cancellation from 42 days (inclusive) to 28 days (exclusive) before the start of the rental period: 50% of the rental price
  • In case of cancellation from 28 days (inclusive) before the start of the rental period: 100% of the rental price
  • If the tenant only announces on the day of the start of the rental period or during the rental period that he will not make any use of the leased property, the tenant will continue to owe the full rent.
