Our detached, spacious villa in South Ardèche is a wonderful place to spend your holiday. Villa La Kost is a modern, comfortable and bright house; Completely on one level and accessible with a wheelchair. There is air conditioning, so that you can stay comfortably in our house even in very hot weather. The kitchen is well equipped. The house is beautifully located, right next to the mountain range the Cévennen. There are nice terraces, with pitches in the sun and in the shade. You can enjoy the beautiful view of the valley and the wonderful tranquility that prevails. And enjoy your own swimming pool. The southern climate does the rest.
There is AIRCO in the living room, the kitchen, and in all bedrooms.
There are two smart TVs equipped with many apps such as Netflix and NLZiet, for the reception of (Dutch) channels. Both smart TVs are equipped with a chromecast.
In the Provencal outdoor kitchen there is a large dining area. You will find a BBQ and an electric grill and griddle, for preparing a delicious meal with a good glass.
The beautiful valley you look out on is very similar to Tuscany, because of its hilly character and the many cypresses that are there. On a clear day, you have a view of Mont Ventoux. You are surrounded by vineyards, olive trees and lavender fields.
Your holiday home is located in the La Coste district, within walking distance of the village of Saint Sauveur de Cruzières. There are about 15 houses spread out in the quarter and the neighbors are friendly people.
Nearby you will find the beautiful towns of Barjac and St. Ambroix where you can visit nice markets and flea markets. In the historic fortified town of Barjac, the atmosphere is Provencal and so is the market on Friday mornings and the night markets that are held there. The cozy Vallon Pont d'Arc and the beautiful Gorges de l'Ardèche are also nearby.
Within good driving distance you will find many beautiful places such as Uzès, Avignon, Nîmes and Pont du Gard. In addition to visiting these places with a rich history, there are many opportunities for all kinds of sporting activities in the area. You can go for a walk on the many hiking trails that have been set out. You can rent sports bikes, quads and mountain bikes nearby. There are many courses for sports bikes. Horse riding is also possible: day trips are organised nearby by an equestrian centre. You can swim in the Cèze, there are several cozy beaches along this river. Nearby is a large sports centre for climbing lessons, white water rafting and much more. Would you rather fish? Fishing licenses are available in Barjac. There are also more adventurous activities such as para gliding, wall climbing and paint ball.
The most beautiful caves in France can be found in Aven d'Orgnac and you can visit the Cascades de Sautadet (waterfalls) at La Roque sur Cèze. Or take a day trip to the Mediterranean Sea and the Camargue. For wine lovers, a visit to one of the many wine estates is a must! In the Cave in the village you can taste and buy the regional wine.
There is a good bakery in the village, for (baguette) bread and tasty pastries. We can also recommend the bakers in Barjac. There are many restaurants in the area where you can eat for very reasonable prices, even at lunchtime. In Saint Sauveur de Cruzières you can eat well at restaurant La Table à Carreaux.
Supermarkets can be found nearby: in Barjac there is a Carrefour Contact. In St. Ambroix you will find an Intermarché, a Carrefour and a Lidl.
Our house manager will welcome you on your arrival and show you around the house. She ensures that the house is in tip-top shape upon your arrival.
