La Cigale is a beautiful newly built house (2020) with a breathtaking view. There is a heated infinity pool of 4 by 9 m that is open from June 1 to September 30. You can stay there with a maximum of 8 people. The house is equipped with air conditioning.

There are also 2 terraces with the necessary garden furniture, 1 of which is covered. On the grounds you will find a bbq as well as a petanque court. There are also plenty of sun loungers and a shaded terrace around the pool.

The sunny department with a Provencal influence has beautiful mountains, forests, rivers and caves. The rock massifs provide a varied backdrop, making the Ardèche a particularly varied region with plenty of beautiful natural beauty. To taste the local atmosphere you can enjoy delicious dishes in the specialty restaurants, auberges or on the shady terraces of each village. The typical southern French town of Les Vans is close to the southern department of the Gard and with an hour and a half drive you are on the coast of the Mediterranean. On the way you will pass Alès and Nîmes, where you can visit an old amphitheater. To the east lies the department of Drôme with the nougat city of Montélimar. If you follow the Rhône to the south from here, you will pass Orange, Avignon and Arles.

Grotte Chauvet Pont d'Arc The Grotte Chauvet, original name Grotte Chauvet Pont d'Arc, is of a completely different caliber. Here you will find many cave paintings from 9,000 to 36,000 years old. It mainly concerns animal images such as a panther, owl, rhinoceros and bears. The images are painted with red or black and sometimes also engraved. The cave was only discovered in 1994 by 3 French cave explorers, who discovered a stone with a few red stripes, but more than 35,000 years old and with the oldest rock art in the world and very valuable "possession". The authentic Ardèche cave is not open to the public, but the replica of the cave is.

The Bois de Païolive in the southwest of the Ardèche is a special area, ideally suited for wonderful walks and quiet bike rides. The vast area of more than 16 km2 consists mainly of oak forest with the most bizarre rock formations. Erosion is the cause of the sometimes alien shapes of the various rock formations. The Bois de Païolive (fairytale forest) is characterized as a forest with many pedunculate oaks and holm oaks. The combination of the forest and the rock formations makes you feel like you're in a completely natural sculpture garden, where the giant statues have a magical appearance

Within walking distance of the house you can leave for a kayak trip at various places. Reservation is recommended in high season. You will receive the necessary explanation about the route on departure and you will store your belongings in a watertight barrel that you will receive. You can choose from different distances. After the tour you will be returned by bus to the place of departure. Sun cream, water and possibly a hat are recommended!
