Our two-person holiday home is fully equipped. You don't have to bring anything, just your personal items. Even relaxing chairs for outside, an electric BBQ but also a TV with Dutch channels is available as well as WIFI.
Adjacent to the house is a small stream "La Daronne" where we have made a seat so that you can enjoy the peace and quiet and the birds and butterflies.
There is a bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. A kitchen with fridge / freezer and a 4 burner gas stove with oven and a separate microwave. There is also a cozy sitting-bedroom with Dutch TV. And a lovely bed of 1.60 wide with a topper. In the house are books, magazines and games. Due to the thick walls of up to 1 meter thick, the house is wonderfully cool on hot days. Outside is an enclosed garden with seating, a garden table with 4 chairs, 2 relax chairs and parasol with a wonderful view of nature. There is a washing machine in a shed. There is also a room where you can store your bicycles. The adjoining unfenced garden for guests extends to the stream.
Activities
From the gîte you can enjoy walking, cycling and mountain biking. It is a great place for cyclists, (electric) mountain bikers, road cyclists and hikers. There are many hiking trails. Flat cycling routes are La Dolce Via (old railway line) and Via Rhôna (along the Rhône). Both in the neighborhood.
A beautiful route with an old steam train goes right through Gorges de Doux. In the gîte there is documentation for various outings.
Surroundings
The Ardèche is a beautiful department named after the river Ardèche. The region owes its popularity to the beautiful weather and its green surroundings. Because our mill is located in the north of the Ardèche, it is less warm here than in the south. The region is characterized by the authentic villages with their characteristic houses, the beautiful unspoiled little rugged nature and the breathtaking mountainous landscapes. There is little to no industry except in the big cities. Our mill is located between two small characteristic French villages. Pailharès is located on a hill and can be reached within half an hour's walk.
Facilities
In the adjacent village of St Felicien (8 minutes by car) are 2 small supermarkets, several shops with organic local products, a bakery, butcher, 3 restaurants and a cozy café. There are also several smaller studios with shops. Here is also a tourist office, a medical center and a pharmacy. Lamastre and Tournon sûr Rhône are the nearest towns. In the summer months, most villages and towns host all kinds of festivities such as markets, flea markets and concerts.
Culinary and Wine
The Ardèche is known for its delicious local products and authentic cuisine. There is a wide range of organic responsible products that come from the region and of which people are justifiably proud. Various local products are for sale at the various markets, such as various cheeses, mushrooms, traditionally made sausages, ham, honey, bread and many authentic wines. Furthermore, many organic fruits such as delicious apricots and cherries.
