Le Chabrol

Have you ever wanted to spend your holidays in a medieval house? Then this is your chance! This house is located in the middle of the medieval town of Alba la Romaine. The walls are meters thick and made up of river boulders. The vaults on the ceiling on the ground floor give the house extra character. 

The house is equipped with all comforts. On the ground floor there is a large cave with a large dining table and a kitchen. The kitchen is well equipped with all utensils. Halfway up the spiral staircase is the bathroom. The spacious bathroom has a bath with shower, a bidet, toilet and sink. On the 1st floor there is a bedroom with a double bed and a large living room. The living room gives access to a terrace. 

On the other side of the terrace there is a blue door. This door gives access to the dormitory. This second bedroom can therefore only be reached via the terrace. The dormitory has its own bathroom. 

The house is located in the middle of the attractive and old town of Alba la Romaine, where you can get lost in the small streets. You can enjoy a lovely walk along the river Escoutay, which flows past the village. The bakery, the butcher, a greengrocer, a small supermarket and a pharmacy are around the corner. On Sunday mornings there is an attractive market in the center. In Alba la Romaine and in La Roche, which is within walking distance, you can find nice restaurants.

The village of Alba la Romaine is with its medieval character and Roman remains "l'un des plus beaux villages de France". The Roman excavations can be visited as well as the adjacent museum. There are also many sights in the surrounding area such as the Gorges de l'Ardeche, the cave of Chauvet at Pont d'Arc with the prehistoric cave drawings and the many beautiful other villages such as Vogue and Balazuc.

In short, the Le Chabrol is a perfect base for all kinds of activities and a wonderful holiday!
