Le Matou Roux

This cottage is within walking distance of one of the largest oak forests in Europe. It is a house for up to 4 people. The two bedrooms each have two single beds. In the largest room, the two beds (electrically adjustable) are next to each other. The bathroom is on the ground floor. A lot of wood has been used in the defense. In addition to the sink with furniture and the toilet, there is a walk-in shower.
There is a wood-burning stove near the seating area. There is also a reversible heating that can provide coolness in the summer. The house is more than 100 years old. But completely renovated on the inside. The small village of Isle et Bardais is 500 m away and has a good restaurant with terrace on the square. Lake Pirot is 1 km away. You can swim in it. This is also where the 11,000 hectare forest begins and where you can spot deer, deer and other game. The forest has various walking and cycling routes. The area is rolling with castles and country houses, farms and picturesque villages. In the summer there is always a Brocante or a village festival somewhere. The cities of Moulins, Montlucon and Bourges are the places for cultural excursions. For wine lovers, the vineyards in the region organize tastings.
