Casa Gambaroncia

Casa Gambaroncia is located in the hills (640 meters altitude) near the town of Castiglion Fiorentino, which is 8 km away via a beautiful panoramic road. 

Together with 4 other houses and a small agriturismo with 3 apartments, we form the community of Gambaroncia. Our neighbors are Italians, who have made us very welcome from the beginning. 

In front of the house a beautifully maintained garden with large terrace and dining table. The breathtaking view over the valley is different at any time of the year and never ceases to amaze. On the other side of the garden is another large terrace with garden furniture. 

Layout  

The house offers one room on the ground floor, in which the sitting area, the dining table and the kitchen (dishwasher and table top refrigerator, separate oven) are located. A straight staircase leads to the first floor, where there are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with toilet and shower and sink. Through a hatch in the wall of the 2nd bedroom there is storage in the attic. There is central heating (combi boiler) throughout the house and there is a wood stove in the living room. 

Under the second terrace is another well-insulated and dry room, which currently serves as a guest room, with toilet and shower. A beautiful garden has also been laid out here and an outdoor kitchen has been created in the vicinity.  Around it are several wooden sheds as storage space for garden equipment, tools, etc.

Behind the house there is room for 1 car, but in the community there is more public space for a 2nd car or for visitors. 

Surroundings

The area has a lot to offer. The well-known towns of Cortona and Arezzo are both located about 17 km from Castiglion Fiorentino. Montepulciano, Siena, Pienza about an hour, accessible via the most beautiful Tuscan roads. Castiglion Fiorentino also has a train station, so that Florence or even Rome can be visited in this way. 

Castiglion Fiorentino is a beautiful town, which is relatively quiet and where you can feel Italian among the Italians. Lots of good shops, businesses and also restaurants. Throughout the year, a lot of fun little festivals and festivities are organized. 

Who does our house fit with?

For us it was love at first sight in 2007 and that feeling has never gone away. We ourselves love peace and nature with culture and activity around the corner. You are dependent on a car, because the nearest shops can be found 9 km away, which we never experience as a downside. We grant our home to people who want to continue caring with love and enjoy it as much as we do, together or with friends and family. The site does require some maintenance in terms of garden work, but that is also part of buying a house in the countryside. And there is always help to be found locally.
