Beautiful vacation home in Piedmont

€ 350,000
  • 140 m² / 2500 m²

  • 4 rooms

  • 3 bedrooms

The Piedmont you should look for

Some places offer themselves. Others you discover. This villa in Gambasca belongs to the second type: a completely renovated, detached holiday home in the Valle Po, at the foot of the Monviso, with unobstructed views over the Po Valley to the vineyards of the Langhe.

Here you will not find terraces full of tourists. You will find silence, space and a valley that is still alive from the land. Farmers prune their orchards by hand, and in the morning you only hear the landscape waking up.

The house

  • Approximately 140 m² of living space on a private plot of approximately 2,500 m²
  • 3 bedrooms, comfortable for 6 people
  • Full bathroom plus utility room with second shower room, toilet and washing machines
  • Space for an extra bathroom
  • Large terrace with a view over the Po Valley and the Langhe

The house is ready to move into. You put down your suitcase and you're home. The garden and terrace give you complete freedom: a vegetable garden, shade under the trees, or a long table where the summer evening ends automatically. The location gives the house its own climate: warm enough for long evenings outside, with the coolness of the mountains.

Rental

The house rents out well. About 12 weeks of rental per year is easily achievable, and you can enjoy it yourself for the rest of the season. Three bedrooms and two wet rooms make it ideal for families and groups of friends.

The area

  • Saluzzo, one of the most beautiful historic towns in Piedmont, is just around the corner
  • The Langhe, Barolo and Alba within driving distance
  • Turin about an hour away
  • France begins over the mountain pass
  • The Monviso and the famous cols, such as the Colle dell'Agnello, are on the doorstep: a paradise for hikers and cyclists

Accessibility

  • Approximately 1 hour from Turin airport
  • About 2 hours from Milan
  • Approximately 12.5 hours drive from Amsterdam

And then there is the neighboring house

Right next to it is a second stone house of approximately 150 m² in shell, for sale separately for €75,000. A guest house, a studio or a major expansion of your rental: these kinds of combinations rarely come along. Renders of the possibilities are available.

I'm Jan. For years I had a second home in Spain, but a few trips through northern Italy changed everything. I fell in love with Piedmont: the mountains, the wine hills, the honest cuisine and the people who still live here as their parents and grandparents did.

Five years ago I took the step. I bought this house in Gambasca and refurbished it from top to bottom. As an interior designer, I did this with great care, with respect for the old character and a contemporary finish.

What touches me again and again here is the balance. From home I drive to the Netherlands in one day, and at the same time the whole of Italy is on my doorstep: the Langhe, Turin, the Ligurian coast, the lakes. I enjoy the markets in Saluzzo, the long lunches, the wines of the region and the silence of the valley.

Why am I selling? The house is finished, and my love for Piedmont is only growing. My passion lies in giving new life to old houses, and I am now working on my next project in the region. This house now deserves residents who will really enjoy it, as I did all those years.

I would like to tell you more about the house, the area and life here.
