COTTAGE UNDER THE SUN FOR A TON
Casa del Maiale is centrally situated in the façade of the medieval "borgo" Verrandi (municipality of Ventimiglia).
The village is located at the foot of the maritime Alps at an altitude of about 200 meters, only 7 kilometers from the sea and almost literally on the border of the Italian Riviera of Flowers (Liguria) and the French Côte d'Azur.
From the Netherlands it is easy to drive by car both via Belgium/France and via Germany/Switzerland. It is only half an hour's drive from Nice AirPort on the highway: only the last 2 kilometers are a mountain road.
The apartment with authentic vaulted spaces is about 70 square meters and consists on the first floor of a kitchen with adjoining balcony with unobstructed views of the San Lorenzo Church and the Roya Valley. On the ground floor, which can be reached via an internal spiral staircase from the kitchen, there are 2 bedrooms and the bathroom with shower, sink, toilet and bidet. Right next to the house, also on the ground floor, is an extra bedroom with its own entrance and bathroom with shower, sink and toilet.
On the ground floor there is central heating by a boiler with fixed gas connection. There is also a romantic fireplace in the kitchen. Hot water via the combi boiler. With the exception of the guest room, the water can also be converted to the electric boiler (useful if the gas price is very high).
For the past 5 years we have used Casa del Maiale as a guest house and with great pleasure also rented out limited through Micazu, mainly in the summer holidays. In 2022 we purchased another apartment in the village which we want to develop further as it is still in "original state".
If desired, (part of) the contents can be taken over at an additional cost: the apartment is then in principle ready to move in. "Trial living" is also possible via Micazu's rental platform.
We, an Italian/Dutch family with 2 growing boys, are in Verrandi almost every school holiday. Casa del Maiale is also suitable for winter visitors or people who want to take advantage of the tranquility and mild Mediterranean climate in a small, authentic Ligurian village outside the high season.
The possibilities in the vicinity of the village are very diverse and too many to mention. From the guests who have stayed at the Casa del Maiale in the past we have noticed that the interests varied very much but that everyone got their money's worth.
