For sale: our beautiful domain in the Lot on the river of the same name. A wonderful place for Burgundian bon vivants, fish lovers, hikers, cyclists and tennis players.
The manor house is built in a U-shape on the old foundations of a 13th century castle. Currently this U is divided into a main house and two gites, which are connected by a door (lockable). It is a perfect situation for continuing the gites business (since 2019 and before it was a B&B) or as a large family home with many rooms (main house and gites total 8 rooms, 7 bathrooms) with terraces located on the river side. In the country house there is a garage for one car with a spacious attic above it.
Separate from the country house is a double garage with another gite/apartment above. This features a spacious living-dining room, two bedrooms and a bathroom.
On the property there are also two swimming pools (one of which is recently renovated for private use, the other is shared by the guests) and a tennis court. The garden has a park-like setting full of well-maintained mature trees and plants. The driveway with its 200+ year old mulberry trees is a really nice entry. At the beginning of the driveway there is a parking area for about 8 cars.
From the estate, the river can be reached directly by a private stone staircase. There is a jetty for boats. Along the river is a path that leads walkers through the vineyards to the Voies Vertes walking and cycling routes. This 160 km long route connects many charming villages and towns in the Lot region.
A 5-minute drive from La Croze is the village of Puy L'Évêque with three bakeries, several restaurants and a supermarket. A 10-minute drive away is Prayssac, a slightly larger village with a nice market on Fridays. There are two supermarkets there. Cahors is a 35-minute drive away, Toulouse (airport) 1 hour and 45 minutes, Bergerac (airport) 1 hour. The nearest train station is Monsempron-Libos (20 min), or Agen an hour's drive away where the TGV leaves for Paris (direct) and the South. In the area there are also many beautiful restaurants (now 2 with a star) and of course the many vineyards and chateaux of the Cahors region. In Vire-sur-Lot alone there are more than 25 wineries.
