General
From Saint-Jean-du-Bruel on the Gorges de la Dourbie it is a three-kilometre drive to Le Pradalaux. At the end of the road on the southern slope of a small valley is the spacious house that was originally built at the end of the nineteenth century as a farm and was enlarged and modernized over time into a spacious home. The area is located at the intersection of several characteristic landscapes: the Cevennes, the Gorges and the Causes.
The authentic, attractive house is located on more than 8 hectares of land, is fully equipped and has a swimming pool. There are several terraces around the house, sunny and shady with old fruit trees. Small springs originate everywhere from which the house takes its name.
Area
There are several villages in the immediate vicinity, each with their own rural atmosphere. Saint-Jean-du-Bruel is the closest and has lively places around the church and the Dourbie, especially in summer. You will find a grocer, a bakery, a butcher, a pharmacy, a cozy bar and several restaurants.
The Languedoc is a 45-minute drive and Montpellier is a 5-minute drive.
Le Pradalaux
With two floors and a basement, the house extends into a series of rooms on the southern slope of a green valley. The comfortable living room with large fireplace leads into the dining room with a small step. The kitchen/diner is directly connected to the living and dining room. This space was completely renovated in 2017 and equipped with a refrigerator, freezer compartment, gas stove, extractor hood, electric oven, dishwasher and plenty of counter and storage space.
The (play/work) room on the first floor has a direct relationship with the living room via a loft. The house has 5 bedrooms spread over 2 floors. There is a bathroom with bath on each floor. There is a 3rd bathroom in the basement near the swimming pool. There are a number of storage spaces underneath the entire house that are accessible from outside.
In summer the house is wonderfully cool due to the thick stone walls and when it is cold outside the central heating and fireplace will keep you comfortably warm.
There is a large green terrace in front of the house. Here you can enjoy the beautiful view of the valley in all seasons in the shade of a robust walnut tree. Bread used to be baked in the old outdoor oven.
Next to the terrace is the swimming pool (5x10m) with sun terrace.
