Our bond with Curaçao started in 1990 when we were deployed to the navy for three years. With countless wonderful memories, including the birth of our eldest son on the island, the desire to create a holiday home here grew. After twenty-eight years and many vacations later, our dream of Casa Haffert has finally become reality. It is our beloved place on beautiful Dushi Korsou, where we like to stay and where we welcome you with open arms. Danny & Silvia

Additional information

Seru Coral is close to Jorisbaai, a large inland waterway where kite surfers can fully enjoy the trade winds. When we think of kitesurfing in the Caribbean, we Dutch people quickly think of Bonaire. The Atlantis spot with offshore wind and bright blue, flat water but also small Bonaire where you can sail fantastically between the flying fish in a small boat trip. However, Curaçao also has two beautiful spots: Sint Jorisbaai: accessible and nice and quiet Klein Curaçao: very quiet but 2.5 hours sailing and often in combination with a day trip. The wind here is practically the same as that of Bonaire. Varying between 14-32 knots with 17-23 being common. The wind is a bit lighter here than in the Netherlands, so take large sizes with you. Sint Jorisbaai Just looking for how to get there, but if your kitesurfing school follows Nix, you'll get there automatically. After heavy rain just keep to the paths otherwise you really need a 4×4. You can park your car directly on the spot and there are artificial grass mats on which to rig your kite. Super relaxed! The water on Sint Jorisbaai is a bit less blue than Bonaire, but that doesn't spoil the fun. The spot has some obstacles here and there such as the Mangroves downwind and a single shoal. It always helps to ask the locals what to look out for. You can stand in a lot of places; think of Oostvoorne – slightly smaller – with a sea urchin here and there. If you are a beginner, shoes are recommended because of the stones and the sea urchins. Advanced is fine here. When practicing new risky tricks, stay away from the 'rusty scaffolding?' and the Mangroves. https://youtu.be/tEZUFF0QQ-Y

A beach where the Curaçaoans like to come on weekends (and sometimes party well into the night). During the week you may occasionally encounter the Marine Corps practicing. If you find this, then it is definitely worth continuing to watch. But you will encounter Captain Goodlife, owner of Let's Go Watersports anyway. Capatina Goodlife is a household name on Curacao. Many a celebrity has paid him a visit. Here you can eat and drink in its bar & restaurant, rent a kayak, or take a water taxi (great fun) to small beaches that can only be reached by boat. But you can (swim underwater) see the special cave The Blue Room. How do you get to the Blue Room on Curaçao? There are three options. #1 On Playa Santa Cruz you will find Captain Goodlife on the left. He will take you to the Blue Room and Santa Pretu Beach. The trip costs $22 and runs daily at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Are you hungry after the trip? Then he will be happy to prepare a large bowl of seafood for you. #2 If you prefer a sporty afternoon, you can also rent a kayak at Captain Goodlife. For 2 hours you pay $35 and you can paddle to the cave yourself, this takes about 25 minutes. Then tie your kayak to the buoy in front of the cave and swim in it. #3 For the real hikers among us: from the parking lot at Playa Santa Cruz you can walk to the cave yourself. You walk down a footpath. Expect some climbing and scrambling along the way! The Blue Room Curaçao is an absolute must-see on the island! But an absolute must see is Boka Hulu, a private beach with a beautiful beach and a view of the blue lagoon. (rent a Kayak yourself at Captain Good Live and leave around 10:00 am then you have the best trip also because it is not that hot yet you can enjoy Kayaking at your leisure and see everything it is still past the Blue Room follow the rock wall on your left and you will automatically come to Boka Hulu Tip: take enough water with you on the kayak there is enough room for it.
