Welcome to Thuishaven, a small-scale and special mini-resort on Curaçao. Our resort is located in the quiet and safe Grote Berg district, centrally located on the island. Thanks to this location, you are a short distance from both the most beautiful beaches and nature on the west coast and the cozy neighborhoods of Willemstad with their colorful streets, shops and excellent restaurants. Thuishaven is an adults-only resort, intended for guests who are looking for peace, comfort and a relaxed atmosphere.

About Thuishaven

The resort consists of seven comfortable studios and apartments, each with its own bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. The studio in this advertisement has a view of the tropical garden and is close to the pool – a nice place to enjoy peace and privacy.

Our guests appreciate the well-kept appearance, the cleanliness and the personal approach. Because we live on the property ourselves, we are always nearby if you have any questions or want tips about nice places on the island.

The garden and the swimming pool

In the middle of the tropical garden is a large swimming pool of 14 by 5 meters – the ideal place to cool off or relax. A special detail are the bar stools in the water, where you can enjoy the sun with a drink in hand. There are comfortable sunbeds around the pool and there are plenty of shaded areas to read or just do nothing.

In addition, there is an honesty bar, a barbecue for shared use and snorkeling equipment that you can borrow for free. Everything is there for a relaxing day by the water, without having to leave the site.

Art and atmosphere

We, Martijn and Johannes, live on the site ourselves and ensure that everything is well maintained. We think it is important that our guests feel welcome. Because we are both very involved with art, you will find several of our own works in and around the accommodations. This gives Thuishaven a personal and creative look.

Central location and accessibility

Our location in Grote Berg is ideal for those who want to explore the island.

- Only a ten-minute drive from Hato Airport

- Fifteen minutes to the west coast with beaches such as Cas Abao, Porto Marie and Daaibooi

- Fifteen minutes to Willemstad with the Otrobanda and Punda districts full of shops, restaurants and museums

We strongly recommend renting a car during your stay. The most beautiful beaches, sights and restaurants are scattered throughout the island. With a car, you can get anywhere quickly and flexibly. We are happy to help with tips or arrange a reliable rental.

Dining options within walking distance

In the immediate vicinity of Thuishaven you will find several cozy eateries that you can reach on foot. Less than a five-minute walk away is Restaurant Bali, with delicious Asian-inspired dishes, and one of the best seafood restaurants on the island. A little further afield, you'll find De Buurvrouw, a popular restaurant among locals and visitors alike, known for its friendly service and excellent pizzas. A breakfast and lunch café and a tapas restaurant are also nearby, ideal for a tasty start or end to the day.

In addition, you will find a small supermarket, a gym, a spa and a wine shop within walking distance – everything you need within easy reach.
