The Forest Hut is a detached, well-insulated log cabin with sleeping loft and wood-fired sauna on a forest area of 1000m2 in the Belgian Kempen.

Enjoy the silence of the forest, a fresh egg from our chickens, relax in your own wood-fired sauna or a good book on the veranda.
The Forest Hut is simple but not primitive, far away from civilization but close enough to get fresh croissants by bike in the morning.
From the veranda where the sauna is located, you walk through the double doors into the Forest Hut and you are immediately in the warm living room with sitting area and dining area. The seating area has a very comfortable 4-seater sofa that can easily be transformed into a lovely spacious single bed.
A door next to the kitchen takes you to the bathroom with shower cubicle and (dry) toilet.
Under the stairs in the living room there is an extra sink for washing hands or brushing teeth.

Via the miller's staircase in the living room you walk to the cozy sleeping loft where there is a double bed and a single bed. From this mezzanine you look into the forest with a small cuckoo window.

Dogs are welcome, as long as they have no problems with the chickens (they are in a coop). Dogs must be kept on a leash outside the premises.

In the area:
Wooded area with many challenging walks. This part of Belgium is known for its mountain bike trails. In addition, Bobbejaanland is a 15-minute drive from the Boshut and you can eat, drink and shop extensively in Turnhout, Herentals, Kasterlee or Lichtaart.
Nearby you can also go canoeing, horseback riding and swimming at the Lilse Bergen.

We are Thijs and Florien. Together we own three holiday homes on two sites. Boslust is our permanent holiday home where we often spend time ourselves. Het Boshuisje is rented out or used as an extra place to stay and we are very proud of De Boshut, which we have converted ourselves into a paradise in the Kempen with vintage parts.
Luxurious with a sauna, hot shower and veranda and yet off-grid and ecologically responsible because close by.

Explanation of prices

If, for whatever reason, the tenant is unable or unwilling to accept the rented property on the agreed date, he must inform the landlord immediately.

A telephone notification of this must always be confirmed to the landlord in writing or by email.If the tenant cancels the agreement in the period up to 6 weeks before the start date of the rental period, he will still owe 30% of the rent; in case of cancellation up to 4 weeks 40% and from 2 weeks until the start date of the rental period 50%. If the tenant only announces on the start date or during the rental period that he will no longer use the rented property, he will continue to owe the full rent.
