The Boshut is a detached, well-insulated log cabin with sleeping loft and wood-fired sauna on a forest site of 1000m2 in the Belgian Kempen. We try to rent out our house as environmentally friendly as possible. We do this by installing solar panels on the roof, careful use of water and energy and not using polluting cleaning products.
Upon arrival, we will welcome you and show you the house and the grounds.
You enter a living room with a three-seater sofa, which can also serve as a sofa bed. There is also a spacious kitchen with gas stove and gas oven and a door that gives access to a small bathroom with spacious shower and (compost) toilet).
The kitchen has a farmer's dining area, where you can sit comfortably on sofas around the table.
Via the miller's staircase in the living room you walk to the cozy sleeping loft where there is a double bed and two single beds. From this loft you look into the forest with a small cuckoo window.
Because you want to be outside as much as possible, there is a covered porch, but also a spacious forest garden, with fire pit (if possible if there is no fire ban), barbecue. The wood-fired sauna is built against the veranda and has room for 4 people.
Dogs are welcome and the property is completely fenced.
In the area:
Wooded area with many challenging walks. This part of Belgium is known for its mountain bike trails. In addition, Bobbejaanland is a 15-minute drive from the Boshut and you can eat, drink and shop extensively in Turnhout, Herentals, Kasterlee or Lichtaart.
Nearby you can also go canoeing, horse riding and swimming at the Lilse Bergen.
There are delicious restaurants and ice cream parlors everywhere, so you don't always have to cook. But you will notice that once you are in the forest, you may not leave so quickly. The rustling of the trees, singing of the birds and croaking of the frogs, as well as the silence at night, where you can hear the occasional owl, will enchant you.
