Aschau im Zillertal The village of Aschau is located in the Zillertal. It is a small village between the winter sports resorts of Kaltenbach and Zell im Ziller and is therefore a good base for two different ski areas. Aschau im Zillertal is a pleasant village, which is not built up with hotels and guest houses. Most of the village is sandwiched between the river Ziller and the mountain on the west side of the valley. Aschau im Zillertal is located between the two ski areas. The location of the village is ideal, as you can easily reach the ski areas with the free ski bus. Supermarket, rental In the village there is a supermarket, bakery, butcher, ski/snowboard rental and you will find several restaurants. In a short distance from Ascha there are larger supermarkets such as Hofer, Spar, Mpreis Ski/snowboard area Hochzillertal-Hochfügen In the ski area Hochzillertal-Hochfügen every type of skier can handle it. The 11 kilometer long valley run is one of our piste tips and quite challenging. There are also many descents, such as slope no. 6, where you can practice your cornering technique. The Lamark lifts in Hochfügen are ideal for beginners and families feel right at home on the Spieljoch. Childcare from 6 months to 6 years is possible in the entire ski area at the 'Zwergerl Club'. Freestylers can let off steam in the Betterpark near Kaltenbach. You can also easily return to the village, because the valley run from Hochzillertal leads all the way to Aschau im Zillertal. The village does not have its own lift, you will be taken back to Kaltenbach by bus. Ski/snowboard area Zillertal Arena The 4-mountain ski area – the Zillertal Arena – extends from the Zillertal in Tyrol to the Pinzgau in Salzburg. The Zillertal Arena has 143 kilometers of ski slopes, 52 cable cars and lifts. This makes Zillertal Arena one of the largest ski areas in Europe. The ski area can be easily reached with the free ski bus. Zillertal in summer In summer, the Zillertal offers many activities such as hiking, cycling, golf, mountain biking, canyoning, rafting, tubing, paragliding and of course numerous sights and events. Hiking For hikers and mountaineers looking for a hiking holiday, our holiday home is an ideal base. Various walking tours start around our house and you can easily travel to and from other villages by train from the train station in Aschau or by bus. Hiking in the Zillertal and the surrounding area means seeing impressive landscapes and beautiful views over mountain peaks. In the tourist map, which you will find in our house, there are a number of walking routes in the area. The tourist office in the village and the tourist information at the Zillertal Arena gondola also have various hiking trails for beginners and advanced skiers. Cycling and mountain biking When you think of cycling in the Alps, you often think of mountain biking or difficult tours, but the Zillertal also offers many beautiful and relaxing cycling routes for recreational cyclists and families. Enjoy a relaxing bike ride, in our house you will find idyllic cycling routes in Zillertal in the tourist map, which have been specially put together for families, e-bikers and holidaymakers. Routes have also been compiled for mountain bikers, which you can find in the tourist map and at the tourist offices in the area. Canyoning, rafting and tubing In Aschau im Zillertal there is a company that offers canyoning, rafting and tubing within walking distance. All activities start from Aschau. Canyoning means as much as canyon hiking - but the term hardly fits this experience. Canyoning is a spectacular full of action and adventure. Canyoning is for everyone. For the smallest among us (from about 6 years with swimming diplomas) there is family canyoning. For the big among us there is Blaue Lagune Canyoning. This canyoning tour has everything your heart desires. Crystal clear, shimmering blue water basins, abseiling up to 15 meters and jumps up to 10 meters.
