Alpendorf Penthouse Hirschkogel is a cozy family home and one of 5 apartments in a luxuriously built complex called Chalet Hirschkogel.
The penthouse offers space for 8 to a maximum of 10 people. The penthouse has 4 separate bedrooms and a screened spacious bunk bed on the mezzanine. There is a maximum of 2 cars in the parking lot (2 private spaces). The complex is located at an altitude of almost 800 meters in Alpendorf next to the gondola. Alpendorf and the valley station of the gondola and the piste or the village can be reached on foot or skiing via a gently sloping 250-metre-long path opposite the house.
From here you can reach the village or the slopes of the 210 kilometres of slopes and snow-sure Snow-Space-Salzburg ski area, here you will find ski and bicycle rental for young and old. Here are also the ski schools and ski lockers. (Info at Snoworld rental).
Back to the house you also walk via the path.
Alpendorf is part of St Johann im Pongau and is located in the heart of the Salzburgerland, so you are very centrally located in both winter and summer.
In Alpendorf you will find good and affordable restaurants in all seasons, both in the village and in the mountains.
The nearest one is a 5-minute walk from the house, one of the must-see places to eat here. They have an extensive classic Austrian menu but also pizzas that you can put together yourself. You can also take away the food here.
There are also delivery options (see maps) and a McDonalds a 5-minute drive away.
Summer.
Austria in summer from the beginning of June to the end of October together with family, friends or children.
There are many activities, the Geisterberg, tobogganing, swimming, a tree course, mountain-karting, arch hunting, ice caves, waterfalls, gorges, rafting, etc.
For the little ones there is a large play paradise at the gondola and on top of the mountain you will find the Geisterberg play paradise.
Around Alpendorf you will also find a lot of sights, beautiful gorges and many hiking, cycling, mountain biking and downhill opportunities.

Alpendorf is a true ski-in, ski-out location with a blue valley run.
Snow Space Salzburg has once again been named the European test winner at the International Ski Area Test 2025/26.

New! When booking, mobility ticket for free travel on public transport (train and bus) in the Salzburgerland. Also to and from the airport in Salzburg.
In winter, the ski area of Alpendorf/Wagrain/Flachau with 210 kilometers of slopes is at your feet. In addition, with the same ski pass (SkiAmadé pass) you can also ski in 4 other ski areas without having to pay more. So a total of 5 ski areas with 760 kilometers of slopes. Among the 5 ski areas there are still a few small ski areas (see SkiAmadé)

More about the penthouse.
The Penthouse can be reached via the stairwell or by elevator. From the apartment you can walk onto the mostly covered terrace and enjoy the view to the southwest and the surrounding mountains. In the morning the sun already comes out on the terrace and stays here until late in the evening until it disappears behind the mountains again. The terrace has a cozy corner sofa with table where you can enjoy the day with friends or family. All bedrooms are equipped with a TV and in the living room there is one with a Chromecast for streaming (own account). If you want to enjoy the sun on the terrace, you will find sun loungers and a sofa where you can sit down with a snack and drink. The penthouse is really equipped with all conveniences and spacious and luxuriously furnished.
Downstairs there are 2 bedrooms with a double bed, one of the rooms gives access to the third room with a bunk bed (90x200 mattresses). Here is also a bathroom with toilet and shower.
Upstairs is the 4th separate bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom.
The bathroom has a toilet and a bath in which you can also shower.
On the loft there is a wide bunk bed (mattresses 90x200) for the 9th and tenth person, the bunk bed can be shielded by means of a curtain.

If you use the 2 cots, please bring your own bed linen. A stair gate and 1 high chair are available. (maximum 2 babies up to 1 year old can join for free)
After a day of skiing, cycling or walking, you can enjoy the wellness area of the complex, here you will find a wonderful sauna (for a small fee in the coin machine, use for this is a 2,-- euro coin).
In the basement you will find a heated ski cellar with boot dryers.
There is also a shared washing machine and dryer with a €1,-- euro coin machine. Here you will also find an ironing board.
Particularities;
- Due to the tranquility, the apartment is not rented to groups of young people.
- Pets are not allowed.
- maximum 2 parking spaces (several cars must be parked elsewhere in the village)
- There is no possibility to charge an electric car or bicycles yet (a separate bicycle battery can of course be charged in the house)
- In winter, make sure snow chains !!
- included in the price are a mobility ticket for free public transport in the Salzburgerland and the SalzburgerSportwelt discount card.
- The Salzburgerlandcard is not included in the price!!
