The Turracher Höhe is located on the mountain pass that connects Carinthia and Styria. Here you will find yourself in an eye-catching backdrop of mountain walls, winding roads and picturesque pictures.

WINTER
If you're looking for winter fun, you've come to the right place on the Turracher Höhe. It is a wonderful family ski area with many cozy mountain restaurants. The high altitude and the abundant snow installations guarantee perfect snow conditions throughout the winter season, which starts at the end of November and ends at the beginning of May. The modern lift system ensures that you don't have to wait anywhere and can spend all your time on the skis. A total of 14 lifts and almost 40 km of ski slopes offer you a challenging ski area in all kinds of variations between 1,400 and 2,200 meters altitude. The area is part of the Murtaler Schiberge which consists of 7 ski areas (15 – 35 km of slopes) with a total of more than 150 km of ski slopes between 1200 and 2200 meters altitude. For those who still don't think that's enough, the Obertauern ski area with 120 km of slopes at a snow-sure altitude is only 40 km away. Around Lake Turrach there are 25 km of beautiful and carefully groomed cross-country ski trails, some of which even run across the lake. The winter landscape with its unspoilt nature and pure mountain air delights winter hikers.

SUMMER
It is also wonderful to stay here in the summer. For hikers, it is an area par excellence. For mountain bikers, there are routes for all levels. You can also go rafting on the Mur, play tennis or go fishing. And if you don't feel like being active for a day, you can go to the terraces of one of the hotels around the lake. A visit to a mountain farm, the Alpin Art Gallery museum or Montan museum is also worthwhile. You will also find various shops, restaurants, a disco and a number of bars. For golf enthusiasts, the 18-hole golf courses of Bad Kleinkirchheim and Murau-Kreischberg are half an hour's drive away. Just south of Turrach is the Nockalmstraße, a beautiful route through the Nockberge National Park. Via Innerkrems you can make a nice day trip here which takes you back to Turrach via Tamsweg.
