Haus Romsicht Carinthia is a lovely detached holiday home located on a dead-end country road on the south side of the beautiful Gailtal, Carinthia.
The house stands on 1500m2 of private land and the garden can be used all around. If you rent the house, the whole house is at your disposal.
There is a swimming pool in the garden with sunbeds, relax chairs, BBQ etc. There is a rocking chair in the tree, there are outdoor toys available and from the garden you enter the basement rooms located under the house where you can store your bicycles or store skis and / or sports equipment. There is sun all year round and you can find shade under the chestnut tree in the middle of the garden and under the awning on the wooden terrace where there is an outdoor dining area and a lounge set and sun loungers. At the front door you have a covered area outside where you can sit nice and cool in the summer and in the winter you can put your ski equipment here.
The house was completely renovated in 2026 and everything has been renewed. Upon entering is a spacious hall. A bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. A spacious pantry with a washing machine, free to use.
A large bedroom with a 2 person box spring bed and spacious wardrobe with sliding doors. From the bedroom you have a view of the garden.
Kitchen with dishwasher, oven, induction hob, fridge-freezer and nice dining table where you can all sit together.
Living room with lovely corner sofa, recliner, smart TV, etc
In the cupboard there are games and reading books.
On the upper floor are 3 spacious bedrooms with double box spring beds and 1 bedroom has an extra single bed. 2 bedrooms have a balcony with views of Italy and Slovenia. Bathroom with bath, shower and toilet
Motorcyclists can park their motorcycle under the shelter at the front door or in the driveway, where there is also room for 2 cars and if the motorcycle is not too wide, they fit through the basement door and can be stored in the lockable basement. We also have a garage further down the road where the motorcycles can be locked if necessary. (5 min walk, or we will pick you up and bring you by car for that part)
In summer there are many village festivals in the area, Fuerwehrfest, Kufenstecken etc. people dressed in clothing and music. Everyone is welcome to participate, it is not necessary.
In winter, you can go cross-country skiing or ice skating and skiing nearby. Ski bus stops in the village and takes you to Dreiländereck or to Nassfeld / Milleniumexpress. The house is located in a small quiet village, with many walking and cycling opportunities from home. There are also many nice trips to do, all at max. 30 minutes by car. e.g. Swimming and beach, hiking or ice skating at the Presseggersee (10 min) For the little ones there is a nice amusement park at the Presseggersee, next to the bathing beach.
Municipal swimming pool (4 min drive). Is also nice to walk to, nice route with nice views. You can also get a nice ice cream and eat fries there, for the enthusiast ;). There are several Alpine villages in the area. The Garnitzenklamm (20 min drive) is a beautiful gorge/waterfall where you can go hiking and enjoy. The Weissenssee (30 min drive) hiking, mountain railway or ice skating/swimming.
The Wörthersee, very beautiful blue clear water, nice to cycle around, to have a terrace, to walk and or swim, to visit fields or Klagenfurt am Wörthersee. Faakersee (25 min), you can float and rent a whisper boat and enjoy the blue clear water. Ski and hiking area Nassfeld, 20-25 min drive and you get into the Milleniumexpress to take you up. There you can go back tobogganing or climb and clamber in a climbing park at 1700m altitude.
Gerlitzen (30 min) mountain railway you can ski or enjoy the view and hang gliding in summer.
Italy is a 20-minute drive away, there is for example the village of Tarvisio where you can shop all kinds of things at the leather market and still haggle with the price. Tarvisio also has a toboggan run where you can take a nice ride for a few euros. Beautiful lakes and gorges with waterfall etc
Slovenia, in 25 minutes you are in Slovenia, you can drive past the bunker museum, enjoy the emerald rivers etc. Terraces, beautiful weather, beautiful nature, In short, I can tell you everything there is to do here in this beautiful part of Carinthia
