We have been able to enjoy this beautiful Villa with our family with older children for 3 weeks in the summer of 2019, It is a beautiful villa in a very convenient location, close to the highway (5 minutes drive but not audible) so easy for the many trips you can undertake in this nice area.
We had taken the bikes with us and that was very nice, within 10 to 15 minutes you are on the beach and you can go in all directions, it is a reasonably safe road for cycling, they don't really have bike paths, but there is a strip along the road where you can cycle well as a cyclist. The house is located in a private garden without a view and a view of direct neighbors, a lovely swimming pool and if you want to be active also a table tennis table, on the balcony we have spent many evenings enjoying the delicious wine overlooking the illuminated swimming pool, in the house is everything you need for a wonderful stay, It is located in a quiet neighborhood, where there is enough space to park in front of the door, you can also use the driveway, but we never did. Plenty of supermarkets nearby for delicious fresh rolls. The house is fully equipped, I can't think of anything that wasn't present in the house.
If we were to name points for improvement, they would be the shower upstairs, I am 2 meters myself, but to stand in the shower this length is not really suitable😊, the shower downstairs is fine and you can stand under as a person of 2 meters, I would also make the reception more personal. Now you have to pick up the key at an office and you enter a beautiful villa where you have to figure everything out yourself, we have called the manager several times and he eventually came by to sort things out with us, with a more personal approach you finish this off, I also don't think having to pay the deposit in cash is really of this time, this criticism concerns the manager, the contact with owner Melanie is very personal & pleasant, Melanie does everything she can to give you the nice holiday feeling, so it is a bit at odds with the reception from the manager.
If you are looking for a beautiful Villa with everything you could wish for in a beautiful area, close to the beach and nice towns, then El Refugio is a wonderful place to stay. When we go back to Calogne this villa is definitely a house that we will think of, we have had a fantastic holiday,

Unfortunately you were less enthusiastic about the manager, they are of course not the owner of the house as I am and therefore not emotionally involved in the house, does not alter the fact that they have to do this work with dedication and I will certainly report this to the relevant people, They will certainly do something with it. Thank you for the review and who knows, maybe we can welcome you again in the future and otherwise maybe as a neighbor, there is a house around the corner for sale ;-) since you were so enthusiastic about the area.
