We enjoyed Christmas and New Year's Eve in the spacious house with a lovely hot tub and a fireplace, which makes it very cozy in the winter. It was wonderfully quiet, balk is also a cozy village, although most facilities were now closed, we still had a great time.
You can enjoy walking and cycling, the forest is also nearby. Great location and definitely a reason for us to come back again.
We also found the contact with the owner very pleasant, everything is also well described and explained.

The house is spacious, cozy and very fully furnished and it has a beautiful garden all around. We had a sailboat at the jetty at the house and sailed a lot on the Slotermeer. Wonderful to be able to sail away like this! The water in the park is clean, you can also swim there. The owner was very helpful when we had a question. We had a wonderful week in this house and will definitely keep it in mind for next time.

Cozy furnished house on the water, very quiet, which we loved, park is neatly maintained. Inventory is amply present, games, bookcase, and many kitchen items, nice if you like to cook, and there was also a washing machine upstairs, our tip was a larger parasol on the garden terrace We had rented a boat for 2 weeks and made beautiful trips every day, with the luck of beautiful weather every day the first 2 weeks in June this year, terrace on the water is not in the evening sun, that was not a problem for us now, but maybe something to take into account for others, (2 spacious bedrooms with sloping roof upstairs, but toilet is downstairs, separate from the spacious bathroom, nice bath with bubbles) the garden around was also neatly cared for. Fishing from the jetty sometimes yielded large bream.
we often come to Friesland, but as water sports enthusiasts it never bores us.
Balk is a pleasant town with many restaurants. Sloten, Hindeloopen, Workum, Stavoren, Lemmer all worth a visit, and also plenty to do if you find a little less nice weather.
Cycling in the area is beautiful, especially to the Gaasterbossen and the cliffs at Oudermirdum, and the IJsselmeer coast with kite surfers
