Karin & Ton are the best hosts you could wish for, they give you a warm welcome, cook deliciously, are super sweet and interested! I had estimated that our children (girls of 14 and 15) would find it a bit boring, because it is quiet and quite remote. But the opposite turned out to be true, they loved it! The cordiality and the gift of Karin and Ton to give a 'home feeling' almost immediately contributed enormously to this! The lovely swimming pool in the village, the well-facilitated river beaches nearby and their rare sweet dogs and cat also helped! Thank you again dear Katharina and Antonio, you remain etched in our memory! Love!

Super, super hospitable and fantastically sweet host/hostess. We stayed here for almost 2 weeks and really enjoyed it. In addition, they also cook deliciously!

The only point was that the location on this site did not quite match the actual location. We expected to be close to Coimbra and therefore closer to other cities, in reality Coimbra is about an hour's drive away.

We were allowed to stay 5 nights in this beautiful place. High in the mountains with a breathtaking view. Ton and Karin know how to give you a warm welcome like no other. Their kindness and hospitality knows no bounds. What sweethearts! We had a wonderful holiday.

Fun and active village community
It was a great week for us. What also made it so special was Soito high in the mountains, the peace, beauty, nature and the pizza night at the community center. The spontaneous get-together with the villagers. The trips to the beach, the market in Miranda do Corvo, nice shops and restaurants in Arganil the hamlet of Colmeal where you stop for a drink on the terrace and the contact with the residents, friendly and helpful people everywhere.
This B&B is definitely recommended.

Even though the weather was cold and wet our welcome at Karin and Tom’s could not have been warmer. We came in late and it was no problem to eat dinner with them. They cooked us a very nice meal, a service we would use more often.

The room was perfect, it was nicely and tastefully decorated, with a great shower, good bed to sleep in and an amazing view overlooking the valley. Too bad we couldn’t use the terrace with this weather, but I can only image how idyllic it would be to wake up and get your breakfast here. Speaking of breakfast, everyday we were served a big breakfast with fresh rolls from the oven, yoghurt, fresh fruit, cheeses and lots of coffee.

The casa is in the beautiful village of Soito. It is a small community on a mountain ridge, very quiet and peaceful. It is a great base to start hikes from and there’s a lot to explore in the immediate surroundings. Other villages are easily reached through winding roads across mountains and valleys which are breathtaking. And with cities like Coimbra, Tomar and even Porto only a few hours away, there are enough options to make a day trip.

If you are looking for quiet, personality and beautiful landscape you are in the right place. The care and hospitality of both Karin and Tom made this a special experience for us.
