The owners' association of the Résidence La Pinède holiday park had a collective WiFi network until 2018. From the beginning of 2019, it turned out that this network no longer met the strict security requirements with regard to the invasion of privacy. As a result, each owner has installed their own system/facility. We have opted for a MiFi Hotspot with a subscription with KPN.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to offer unlimited free internet for all guests. In certain weeks there are also families consisting of 8 people in our villa. Some family members even use 2 or 3 devices where videos and many photos are often uploaded and downloaded. These are very expensive subscriptions and that is not a problem in principle, but then the rental price of our villa would be far too high. We only want to offer a basic service of up to 5 GB. This turns out to be more than enough for retrieving e-mails and for looking up basic information via the internet.
However, the owners' association is still looking for a collective facility for the entire holiday park. This will allow more options to be offered at acceptable costs that can be passed on to all owners. Hopefully we will be able to offer more from next year, but a secure network is paramount.
