For the second time enjoyed everything the cottage and the surrounding area had to offer us. Great stay for an appropriate fee. Lovely environment for dog owners like us.

We have stayed in this cottage for 2 weeks with great pleasure. The garden is fenced off so that our dog can roam freely. The bed sleeps well and the shower is wonderfully warm. The cottage is located in a quiet park. You can easily reach the beach by bike, it is also a good base for nice walks, e.g. at Schoorl, a day on Texel (car parking and with bike on the boat), cycling through the dunes or polder at Petten. It's a beautiful setting.

The cottage was quite filthy. Poor WiFi. Overdue maintenance. Had contact with the landlord about this. Friendly contact, but in addition to refunding the cleaning costs and advice to reset the router, this has not led to results.

The cottage is rented continuously without intermediate cleaning. As a guest, you arrive in a house that has just been left in that state by departing guests - despite paying for a final cleaning and inspection. For me, that meant a start to my holiday with a cleaning - including the removal of mold along the walls throughout the house - and comments after leaving that I had not left it clean enough. This was after I had swept the house, everything was exactly in place, I had wiped all surfaces and vacuumed out the sofa. I have indicated to the landlord that I find this highly remarkable, but there has been no response. The garden is not maintained, comments about it in the reviews/guestbook date back to 2019, the lawn has become a field full of roadside flowers and the branches slap you in the face on the side of the house. Very rustic, but not what you would expect based on the photos. Privacy is disappointing, from 2+ (2 direct, adjacent to the back) gardens there is a direct view into the garden. The plot is surrounded by other plots so you get noise from 4+ neighbors. The price-quality and facilities in the cottage are fine, the location is top, hence a satisfactory rating.
