Practical cottage with everything you need and lovely garden. Within walking distance of forest and beach. Go for a run and get a breath of fresh air, discover Zeeland and in the evening around the fireplace. Fine restaurants and bakery in the village. The only downside in the house in our opinion is that some beds/mattresses in the middle sag a bit.

Nice place in Westenschouwen within walking distance of the beach and the forest. Excellent base with walking and cycling opportunities.

-according to us- suitable for only four adults. We (couple) had two very nice weeks in the Mermaid. The contact with the owner was also very pleasant

Despite the changeable weather in our period, we really enjoyed the 1.5 week holiday in this fine holiday home.

The cottage is in a quiet park at the end of a cul-de-sac narrow road. The cottage is surrounded by green hedges, some trees and shrubs, so you can sit there quietly and not be bothered by anyone.

The cottage is well furnished and everything works as it should. Nice / nice 2 person bed downstairs and I have not heard anyone complain about the beds upstairs either. Good bathroom, cozy living/dining room with fireplace (which is used on the rainy evenings). Secluded and spacious garden on the southwest. Storage room (a bit small) with washing machine. Upstairs a 'loft' to sit or play (or let the laundry dry).

Good location in relation to the beach (easy to walk). Small supermarket and some restaurants very close. Beach and dunes, forest (many walks and also a very nice cycling route) also within walking distance. Every morning I get fresh bread from the bakery in 'Burgh' and the other groceries there in the (large) AH.

It may be a somewhat older house, so for someone who values 'everything new' and luxury, it may be a bit less suitable.

For us, the holiday and the cottage were certainly successful and worth repeating, partly because this is also an affordable house.

Had a nice week in this beautiful holiday home. Location in relation to the beach is perfect, 3 minutes by bike. Supermarket and restaurants also within walking distance at the end of the street. For large groceries, an AH is a few minutes by car in Burgh Haamstede. In the park itself, the house is somewhere at the back, so you have peace and quiet. The house itself has an attractive interior, fully equipped. Nice that there is a washing machine. Beds were fine. The renovated bathroom looks nice, lovely shower under the rain shower after a day at the beach. Garden is nice and spacious, for the children plenty of space to play. In the cupboard upstairs were a number of fun board games. Actually, nothing to criticize about the Mermaid. If I had to mention something, it might be the lack of a stair gate, in case you are with small children, like us. Contact with the landlord was also pleasant and informal. We definitely want to come back here again.
