It was awesome.
The transfer from the airport to the house was well arranged, Eldorado and our family name could be read on the driver's sign.
Ellen, one of the caretakers was waiting for us at the house, the villa. She told us everything we needed to know about the house, the car and the surrounding area/shops. The managers have been very nice, approachable and very efficient throughout the holiday.
The house is big, nice and big, comfortably big, we had also rented the apartment/guest house under the house. Our party was 6 people, sometimes 9. As a result, we all had our own room. We have family living/working on the island.
The big fridge, upstairs, was big enough for all our groceries, the fridge downstairs, with ice cube machine and cold-water-tap, didn't even need it.
All bedrooms had good working air conditioning, definitely needed to get a good night's sleep, they work quickly and without much noise, just enjoyed the coolness.
The showers were nice, 1 dial for softer > harder and cold > hot, very easy but you actually only use the cold water, which is 😊 not cold either.
The living room, where we were not too much, has a good large TV with Dutch channels.
The setting sun from the terrace is AMAZING, this is why we had chosen this house.
Downstairs is a cozy bar, large table and a sitting area, we have not used this much, a bit of a shame but there are only so many hours in the day and our days were well filled.
The seat at the front of the house is also nice and is sometimes a little cooler than at the back.
We have been in the pool a lot, nice bath, nice view to the stars in the evening.
In the morning we sometimes saw an iguana in the tree, beautiful animals, beautiful pictures.
We had rented the Pick-Up Truck at the house, air conditioning works fine and works fast, very handy and you can enter the "Washington Slagbaai National Park" with it, this is also recommended.
The area and some tips:
We did our shopping at the Warehouse Bonaire, which is from the Jumbo. A few times we have also been to Van Den Tweel, AH, which is the largest and the most expensive but they have almost everything there. Only no medicines for example, we went to get them at the DA drugstore.
We did freediving at the "Blue Classroom".
Snorkeling at dive spot 1,000 scooters and also other locations but this one was the most beautiful.
We did diving at "Dive Friends".
We had a very nice dinner at Mezze (Syrian cuisine)
At The Beach we had a nice lounched and dinner, on the water, beautiful location.
Between Two Buns is a good lunch location with enthusiastic staff.
Cactus-Liqueur can be tasted in the oldest village of Rincon.
Captain Don's, RumRunners is also a very nice location, here we have pizza, a delicious pizza.
We have almost all the ice creams at Gio's.
The groceries are expensive. Eating out is a bit more comparable to the Dutch prices.
Eldorado has a beautiful view.
The villa meets all your needs.
