Our apartment is located in quiet Torgon, near Montreux. From Torgon there are countless possibilities for skiing and hiking in the largest ski area in Europe; Portes du Soleil. There you can always ski and walk across the borders of Switzerland and France.
The apartment is fully equipped: Bathroom with toilet, bidet, shower and bath. The new kitchen with dishwasher, induction cooking, microwave and oven dates from autumn 2015. Bedroom with a good, wide double bed and a bunk bed.
In the living room you will find two excellent, adjustable fold-out beds, so there is room for five to six people. The comfortable room has a cozy layout with an Austrian dining area and comfortable chairs. There is Dutch TV and free WiFi.
Parking is free in the heated garage. Washing machine and dryer available. Ski box is in the also heated hall. The elevator takes you to the third floor where the apartment is located.
You will find several restaurants, a café, a wine bar, ski shops, ski rental, ski school and a supermarket.
I am the owner of this wonderful apartment in beautiful Torgon. We have been coming here for years and we still find new walks, ski routes and fantastic outings to, for example, Montreux and Lake Geneva where you can stroll along the boulevard and take boat trips. An ideal location for mountain biking and cycling.
It is the entrance to the largest ski area in Europe: Portes du Soleil, where you can make unlimited ski tours
The top of the season is during Christmas and New Year and the spring holidays and the first two weeks of March. Prices are highest at that time.
If the tenant wishes to cancel the booking for any reason, the tenant must always confirm this to the landlord by e-mail (even if this has already been communicated to the landlord by telephone, for example). The landlord will charge the following amounts, depending on the date of written cancellation by the tenant:
cancellation more than 3 months before the start of the rental period: free of charge
cancellation between the 90th and the 60th day before the start of the rental period: 25% of the rental price
cancellation between the 59th and the 30th day before the start of the rental period: 50% of the rental price
cancellation less than 30 days before the start of the rental period: 100% of the rental price
If the tenant only announces on the start date or during the rental period that he or she will no longer use the rented property, he will still owe the full rental price.
• From Torgon you can walk endlessly. The routes are indicated everywhere with yellow signs. The duration of the walk is included. But Torgon is also a suitable base for various excursions. Here are a few: • The salt caves of Bex. You can take a train into the mountains there, where you can get a tour. • Walking to the Lac de Tanay. A wonderful day trip for good hikers. After a steep climb you arrive at a beautiful mountain lake, where you can swim and sunbathe. For less good walkers there is the option to drive to Le Flon by car. From there it is another hour of steep climbing. You can also order a taxi to take you up (just ask at the restaurant in le Flon). • Montreux: walk along the long boulevard, visit the Château de Chillon or the Queen museum and the statue of Freddy Mercury. • Shopping at the Center Commercial in Monthey or in Collombey. There is also a Lidl and ALDI. • In Montreux (Territet) you can take a cog railway up for the most breathtaking view ever (in clear weather). It is called “Rocher de Naye”. • In August, the chairlift from Plan du Croix is open on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. • In Bouveret there is a campsite with a beach on Lake Geneva. You can swim, rent pedal boats and sailing boats there. • There is also a large subtropical swimming paradise with enormous slides • In Villeneuve there is a beautiful swimming pool on Lake Geneva. It is indicated with 'Plage'. • Boat trip with stops along Lake Geneva. You can get off halfway, look around and get back on. • Golf course in Evian-les bains. • Torgon is an ideal starting point for day trips to, for example, Zermatt (the Matterhorn), or Chammonix (Mont Blanc) or the Aosta Valley via the great St. Bernard pass. • The Wine Castle is a wine museum in Aigle. Well worth a visit, especially during harvest time, the second or third week of October. • At Aigle you can also go into the mountains towards 'les Diablerets'. At the Col du Pillon ('Glacier 3000') you can take a cabin lift up to admire the highest peaks. Even in the summer people still ski there. • The Olympic Museum is in Lausanne; very worthwhile! • At the tourism office they can tell you everything about the area.
