In Murcia, next to Andalusia, at the foot of the mountains, near the sea and the bustling city of Cartagena in the south of Spain (southern Spain) we have a wonderfully quiet and spacious holiday home for two people. This wooden chalet (renovated in 2023 and 2024) is comfortable, attractive and cozy with a double bed, a shower, toilet, sink, air conditioning and a lovely covered terrace for your breakfast or a glass of wine.

In addition to the log cabin, in a second room you will find a large, bright and well-equipped kitchen with gas stove / oven, also air conditioning (hot and cold), microwave, television, refrigerator and coffee maker. Here you will also find an extra (large) bathroom with toilet, walk-in shower and washing machine. For a fresh splash, there is a swimming pool with terrace (adapted and improved in summer 2024).

We do not allow pets and smoking is not allowed anywhere. Around the chalet there is plenty of shade and seating so you can always find a place to relax or read a book. There are (still) a few caravans and cottages on our site that will also be partly converted into holiday accommodation in the future. In addition, between October and April, we receive a maximum of two campers per day that are parked in their own place.

The wooden chalet and additional kitchen with bathroom are located in a natural park in the Murcia region, next to Andalusia. You sit, sleep and 'live' at the foot of mountains up to 650 meters. From our site you can walk straight into nature and you can make many attractive walks. Not only short laps, but also serious climbs and long day trips. We can deliver them on request in Komoot and are happy to help you with beautiful routes. Tickets are available.

You can reach the old city of Cartagena or El Portus beach in 25 minutes by bike. Mountain and gravel bikers can also indulge themselves with us on the many unpaved paths in the area. The small but lively village of Perín is less than half an hour's walk away. Six days a week there is a 'Club Social' open where you can eat delicious tapas and drink a nice glass of beer or wine. You can do your shopping in Canteras, a fifteen-minute drive away. Of course, a bottle of Spanish cava will be waiting for you. We would love for you to come and 'stay' with us!

Petra Tjeertes and Roel van den Eijnde settled in the Murcia region in 2022 and bought a former camping site in the village of Perín, not far from the port city of Cartagena. Roel has not given up his old profession as a copywriter, but now works from Spain. In addition, he sometimes guides trips for a small travel company. Petra has a background as a phytotherapist, acupuncturist and coach and had her own practice in Alkmaar and Amsterdam. They both love to walk!

* If cancelled within 24 hours of booking, you are entitled to a full refund of the booking amount.
* In case of cancellation up to the 42nd day before the start of the stay, the cancellation costs amount to 30% of the travel sum

Nature, peace and quiet:
Lovely chalet to unwind!

We had fantastic days in this spacious and carefully furnished log cabin. Petra and Roel are very hospitable and do everything they can to make your stay as pleasant as possible. The accommodation is located on a site where there are a few other cottages and a few caravans. It is quiet and everything is neatly taken care of.

Enjoyed this place immensely. The stay is comfortable down to the last detail. No excess, just right. It offers all the space (and tranquility) you need. Around the residence are several (private) terraces where you can sit in the sun or not. The hammock chair is the ideal place for those who need some reveries.
Roel and Petra complete the positive experience by their presence; are always willing to give tips where needed (and share routes in Komoot (very useful)). Their own enthusiasm for the place and the environment, and their knowledge of it, is even more contagious.

Roel and Petra were waiting for us on arrival. Of course, that's a good start. They are very very hospitable and helpful. They want to make you feel as comfortable as possible and provide comfort. They know the area well and therefore have many tips to do, even a little further away. The cottage offers a lot of privacy and you are very quiet. We were full of anticipation because the bedroom and the living space are two different cottages. That was really fine. There is plenty of outdoor space, the cottage is surrounded by several terraces to sit, both in the shade and the sun. There is plenty of outdoor furniture. The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped. The living room is cosily furnished. The bed is good. The large bathroom has a nice shower. It's all neat and clean. All in all a great cottage to stay and unwind. A cottage where you really feel at home. Overall a great place to be. Peace, space and wonderful nature around you. Roel and Petra are still making improvements in and around the house, so it will all be even more beautiful.

Small-scale 'park', quiet and beautifully situated with great views.
Couple of cottages, caravans and space for 4/5 small campers. Lots of privacy.
The cottage is spaciously equipped and divided into a sleeping and living area, nicely connected by a covered terrace. In any case, various places to be.
Petra and Roel are the perfect hosts, helpful, attention where needed and a source of information regarding the area and beyond...
It was very pleasant to be there, even in January!
Definitely next time.

A lovely place! Tranquility, many opportunities for walking and cycling. Also nice close to a quiet sandy beach.

Lovely place in a beautiful nature reserve. Perfect for a run in the morning and great for a walk. During the car ride towards the sea you can enjoy the most beautiful views. Definitely recommended!

What a wonderful time we had in this nice place!

We had first booked 4 nights but had such a good time that we came back for another 10 days. Roel and Petra are very nice hosts who make you feel at home.

Bedroom is beautiful with a lovely bed. The kitchen is very spacious and well equipped for a nice homemade meal. You even have the luxury of choosing from 3 different places to shower. The pool has a beautiful view and you can be on the beach within half an hour.

We will definitely come back here again and wish Roel and Petra a lot of success and fun with their beautiful home!
