TORREVIEJA
is situated in the southernmost part of the Valencia region on the Spanish Costa Blanca, about 30 kilometers from Alicante, the capital of the province. The weekly market on Friday can be counted among the largest in Spain. There is a craft market at the harbor every day. The area is best described as a long region, which is known for its beautiful beaches. This makes this area also very popular with the Spaniards who spend their holidays here from other parts of Spain. Torrevieja itself is also located by the sea and is surrounded by two large natural saltwater lakes which are the largest salt lakes in all of Europe. There is a dry climate with more than 330 days of sunshine a year and an average temperature of 20 degrees. Due to the presence of the large salt lakes in the area, there is a micro climate here (mild winters and not too hot summers) making this area one of the healthiest areas in the world!
