Casa Laranjeira

Are you looking for a relaxing holiday in central Portugal? In the small rural village of Eirigo, near Mortágua, I offer you three holiday homes, Casa Adega, Casa Escola Velha and Casa Laranjeira. Each house has its own character. In Eirigo you will experience the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of rural Portugal and enjoy the tranquility of nature. Mortágua offers typical Portuguese cuisine and the best wines. It is also the perfect starting point for day trips to the high mountains Serra de Estrela and Caramulo, the sunny beaches of Costa Nova and Figueira da Foz and the beautiful cities of Coimbra. Aveiro and Viseu.

The houses are situated around a central garden with communal swimming pool and olive grove. All houses also have their own outdoor area, with dining table and sitting area. In the garden you can see original "espigueiros", the traditional wooden corn barns.

Casa 'Laranjeira' (orange tree) is dominated by some very old orange trees, hence the name. In spring, the air is filled with the sweet scent of blossom. In summer and autumn you can see the oranges growing and changing colour, but in winter you can actually pick and eat them. The ground floor of the house is built of xisto (slate) stone from a local quarry. Large white quartz stones, typical of the area, have been incorporated into the walls and are clearly visible in the living room. 

Layout

On the ground floor is the open kitchen and living room. You reach the first floor via a staircase from the living room, as well as via an external staircase that leads to the original front door. Through the front door you reach two bedrooms with a separate bathroom. The third bedroom has its own entrance. This bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and access on two sides to a partly covered balcony with stunning views. 

This property has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It can accommodate up to 6 guests. In view of the layout of the house, it may be less suitable for young children.  This is because the master bedroom is not on the same corridor as the other two bedrooms
