Casa Adega

Are you looking for a relaxing holiday in central Portugal? In the small rural village of Eirigo, near Mortágua, I offer you three holiday homes, Casa Adega, Casa Escola Velha and Casa Laranjeira. Each house has its own character. In Eirigo you will experience the relaxed and friendly atmosphere of rural Portugal and enjoy the tranquility of nature. Mortágua offers typical Portuguese cuisine and the best wines. It is also the perfect starting point for day trips to the high mountains Serra de Estrela and Caramulo, the sunny beaches of Costa Nova and Figueira da Foz and the beautiful cities of Coimbra. Aveiro and Viseu.

The houses are situated around a central garden with swimming pool and olive grove. All houses also have their own outdoor area, with dining table and sitting area. In the garden you can see original "espigueiros", the traditional wooden corn barns.

Casa Adega was built by hand in 1948 with the help of the whole village. It is built entirely of xisto (slate) stone from a local quarry. The villagers can tell you that the stones in front of the house were quarried with homemade gunpowder and transported with an ox cart. 

The living space of this house is on the first floor. From the balcony and the large windows next to the dining table you have a magnificent view of the mountain range 'Serra de Lousã', about 50 kilometers in the distance. Next to the large, bright kitchen with dining table, is a living room that gives access to three bedrooms, with two bathrooms. A special feature of this house is the large 'adega' (wine cellar) on the ground floor. This room of 32 square meters has a huge table with benches that can easily accommodate 16 people so that you can invite as many friends or locals as you want into the adega. There is a fireplace and a toilet.
The property has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It can accommodate up to 6 guests.
