Renovated large country house with 3 spacious bedrooms with private bathrooms, 2 living rooms and large open kitchen. There is a swimming pool (salt water, 12 x 4 m) with sun terrace. Terraces and patio with views of the forests & mountains. In the middle of the Dão wine region, in nature on 1 hectare of private land. Shops, amenities and restaurants are within 5 kilometers. The property is open all year round and has mosquito nets and air conditioning (heating/cooling).

Lugar do Pégo is located in the middle of the Dão wine region, with vineyards and wineries 'just around the corner' and borders the ecopista - a 49 km cycle path without any motorized traffic. Mountain bikes are available for rent upon request in advance. About 300 meters away is the river Dinha, clearly audible with its waterfalls. Further along the Dinha and the river Dão there are river beaches where you can swim. With a view of the Serra da Estrela and the Serra da Açor, surrounded by trees and tranquility and 21 kilometers from Viseu and 69 km from the historical Coimbra, the accommodation offers all the possibilities to be active but also to relax. The Caramulo mountain range is 20 minutes away by car and is suitable for hiking, paragliding, abseiling and has a renowned old-timer museum. The Serra de Estrela is an hour's drive away, as is the sea with several fantastic beaches. There is also a thermal bath with various beauty packages within 15 minutes by car and also a golf course with 27 holes within 15 minutes.

Viseu is 21 km from Lugar do Pego and can be reached by bike via the ecopista. Coimbra is only 69 km away. Free Wi-Fi throughout the complex. Towels and bed linen are provided. Free parking is available on site.

Lugar do Pégo is also gastronomically interesting: a few kilometers away is a famous authentic Portuguese restaurant with Bib Gourmand (Très Pipos), just under 15 kilometers away is the Quinta de Cabriz, also famous for its wines, and just under 20 kilometers away is the beautiful Quinta (Mesa) de Lemos.

Along the way along the ecopista there are several places to eat and drink.

The oldest part of the villa Lugar do Pego is the 'tower room' (on the 1st floor) which dates from the late 1800s and has been converted into a very spacious double room with a double box spring, a private bathroom and private entrance. Next to it is the 'master bedroom': a very large bedroom with a view of the mountains almost over the entire width of the large room, and a private bathroom around the corner. In the old 'adega' on the ground floor there is a large double room with a private bathroom. The living/dining room as well as the terrace outside have fantastic views of the Serra de Estrela and the Serra da Açor. There is a large well-equipped kitchen and there is a second sitting room.

Lugar do Pégo is a settlement that consists of several buildings (the villa as described here and a completely separate holiday home at some distance). Each building of Lugar do Pego has its own facilities and private terrace (note: not fenced, not child-friendly) and private entrances. Of course there is free internet and wifi and there are private parking spaces. The villa is very spacious with 150 m2.

Given the height differences on the quinta and of the terraces that are not all fenced, this accommodation may be less suitable for young children.

The swimming pool is shared by the guests of Lugar do Pego (up to a maximum of 13 people in total).
