Quinta do Sameiro occupies a 1.8 hectare site on the southern slope of the Serra do Caramulo, 2 km from the nearest village. The house consists of two parts: an upper house with hall, kitchen/living room, two bedrooms, bathroom and large balcony, and a lower house. The house is surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens and has a magnificent view over the valley, with the Serra da Estrela on the horizon. There is a large swimming pool (12x4 m); the pool house has a fireplace. The grounds have numerous fruit trees (including oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruits, plums) and olive trees; depending on the season and harvest, there are blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, kiwis, persimmons, almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts and a small vegetable garden. There is plenty of privacy; the site is largely walled.
The immediate area is especially suitable for walks and cycling / mountain biking. The nearest village, however small, has everything for daily shopping, and the regional town of Tondela is 8 km away. The region has numerous good restaurants and is known for its good (Dão) wines. Viseu is less than half an hour away; Coimbra, Porto and the coast of Aveiro are about an hour away. The quinta is an hour and a half from Porto airport.
