Quinta da Lua Nova is an impressive estate of more than 47 hectares in the countryside in central Portugal. It is located in the town of Travanchina near Seia, at the foot of the highest mountain in Portugal, the Serra da Estrela.
The original sheepfold has been turned into a fantastic studio and equipped for yoga activities. There are mats, pillows, ropes, blocks and other supplies. The studio can of course also be used for other activities.
Mario, one of the owners, is a certified Iyengar yoga teacher and teaches yoga classes in the studio almost daily.
Quinta da Lua Nova offers a unique location for groups of up to 20 people, 18 in the main house and 2 in the pool house 300 meters away.
Quinta da Lua Nova can be used for a group holiday or for joint group activities such as;
- a yoga retreat location, the yoga teacher / teacher brings their own students,
- a group of friends who want to celebrate a special occasion together,
- an intimate birthday party or a very special small-scale wedding,
- a team building weekend,
- a family reunion.
The house is a traditional robust house with 9 bedrooms, a large kitchen / diner, a comfortable living room. A large conservatory offers beautiful views of the country, the Arruda valley and the mountains Caramulo mountains and Serra da Estrela. The living room has two seating areas. The classic area around the fireplace and a more contemporary seating area around the smart TV.
The kitchen is inspired by the old-fashioned Portuguese style with a double sink. There is a new old-fashioned wood oven that can be used for cooking and which also serves to comfortably heat the room in winter. The kitchen is of course fully equipped. A large freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, mixer, blender. Sufficient glassware, pans, crockery and cutlery. There is also a modern five burner gas stove and an American fridge. The cleaning room is equipped with two washing machines and a dryer.
In the conservatory there is a comfortable seating area with a view of the surroundings and the road, which curves nicely around the rocks, towards the gate,
All bedrooms have a double bed (160 X 200) or two single beds (80 x 200). The entire upper floor also has central heating.
On the ground floor is the Storage Room with its own bathroom that is also accessible for someone in a wheelchair.
The Kitchen room was originally the main kitchen of the house, now it is a bedroom with bathroom and a large fireplace with a small sitting area with a wood oven.
The Green room was the original dining room, the en suite bathroom is also the only bath in the house.
The Swan room was the dining room for the servants and staff, again en suite.
The Balcony room with bathroom has its own private entrance but can also be reached from the hallway. This staff kitchen also has a large fireplace with seating and a wood oven.

The Arabian room and the Chinese room share the pink bathroom opposite the rooms in the pink hallway.
The Fresco room and the Blue room share the green bathroom opposite the rooms in the white corridor.
At a walk of 300 meters from the house there is a large swimming pool.
You can literally walk for days around Quinta da Lua Nova without taking the same route. You can discover the Secret Garden garden, the two olive groves, the stream L'Esperao that flows over the land and in some places marks the border, the canyon, the water mines, the silences, birds and views.
The 105 m2 studio is equipped for yoga activities.
It goes without saying that you can also develop other activities here. The air conditioning keeps you cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
