We are Henk-Jan & Iris and have been coming to this wonderful area since 2007; Valbormida, de Langhe, Piedmont, Northwest Italy. The area of hospitality, simplicity and gastronomy. The house has found us. We fell in love immediately and can't live without it ever since. It has now become a villa, with a luxurious terrace, large garden and swimming pool. Also take a look at the Youtube video 'Le Colline del Plin', which was recorded near the house. The region is a land of plenty!

Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

Check-in is possible from 4:30 PM
Check-out no later than 09:30 in the morning
Beds are made on arrival
Rental of bed linen and towels (bath towels and towels for the terrace) is mandatory and costs € 20 per person. Kitchen linen is included.
Two camping beds are available. Please indicate when or after booking when you want to have one or two camping beds.
Costs of the final cleaning are € 150, - We ask you to leave the house swept clean.
When booking two consecutive weeks, there is, if desired, a free interim cleaning.
The deposit is € 300,-.
The basic rental price is for 4 people. For the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th person there is an additional cost of € 60 per person per week.
Use of gas, water and electricity is included in the rental price from May to September. In the period from October to April, the gas price is recalculated in proportion to consumption.

The landlord will charge the following amounts, depending on the date of written cancellation by the tenant:

In case of cancellation up to 90 days (exclusive) before the start of the rental period: free of charge
In case of cancellation from 90 days (inclusive) to 42 days (exclusive) before the start of the rental period: 30% of the rental price
In case of cancellation from 42 days (inclusive) to 28 days (exclusive) before the start of the rental period: 50% of the rental price
In case of cancellation from 28 days (inclusive) to 14 days (exclusive) before the start of the rental period: 75% of the rental price
In case of cancellation from 14 days (inclusive) before the start of the rental period: 100% of the rental price
If the tenant only announces on the day of the start of the rental period or during the rental period that he will not make any use of the rented property (anymore), he will continue to owe the full rent.

During your visit to Villa al Plin, don't forget to drive up the hill with the villages of San Giorgio Scarampi, Olmo Gentile and Roccaverano, preferably with an Italian tune.

The SP 24 road winds from Villa al Plin between vineyards and fruit orchards, past characteristic farms. The villages have few inhabitants, but the culture is as beautiful as ever. Discover the small churches, the medieval towers and the hiking trails with beautiful views, in spring even with a view of the Alps.

At the top, in the square of Roccaverano, you will find the famous bar, with terrace, wine shop and restaurant 'Osteria del Bramante'. In our opinion, one of the nicest squares in all of Italy.

Combine shopping with a getaway in this convenient and pretty town. Cortemilia has an old and a new part, connected by a bridge over the river Bormida.

The seven coffee bars are very cozy for coffee, lunch, drinks and at some even dinner.

A walk to the tower on the hill is beautiful and fun to do, with children for example.

Restaurants in Cortemilia are: Villa San Carlo, Trepiasi, Castel Martino and Agriturismo Gallo.

To top it all off, Cortemilia is the hazelnut capital of the world, with the most delicious hazelnut tarts, for example at La Corte di Canobbio.

A tour of the nut orchards at Cascina Barroero, their cake bakery and a lunch with these passionate people here in the hills near Cortemilia is a beautiful experience!

Alba - about a 40-minute drive from Villa al Plin is the city and the area that is definitely worth a day trip.

Alba is located between villages such as Barolo, La Morra, Serralunga, Neive, Barbaresco and Treiso, where the vineyards and wineries of Barolo and Barbaresco are located.

Drive there on the Strada Romantica, the romantic route between the vineyards, and with a bit of luck a beautiful view of the Alps.

The city itself is luxurious, with beautiful shops, pretty squares, and beautiful churches like the Duomo. Salons with delicious ice cream and restaurants where truffle and Barolo close to the source are a real delight.

Although Villa al Plin is located in a quiet area, it is very central to many excellent restaurants. These are often hidden between the hills. Cooking is done with ingredients from the region, also called the Slow Food or ZeroChilometri philosophy. We can easily name a list of 25 restaurants, within a radius of a few kilometers around the house.
