Holiday house

In the hills of the Langhe, Piedmont between the hazelnut orchards lies our authentic holiday home. From the house and the spacious garden you can see the Alps on a clear day. Enjoy the peace and sounds of nature on one of our terraces overlooking the valley, just 1 km from the village of Niella Belbo.
In Niella Belbo there are various facilities, such as a mini supermarket with fresh rolls, butcher, pharmacy and several restaurants and bars.

The detached stone country house has been restored and modernized while retaining some unique features. The house consists of 2 floors with a spacious covered terrace, where you can enjoy the Italian food.

On the ground floor is a cozy living room equipped with a pellet stove which can provide extra warmth during the colder moments. In the cupboard there are a number of books and games that can be used. The open kitchen is fully equipped (including oven, dishwasher, kettle and coffee machine).
On the ground floor there is also a spacious bathroom with walk-in shower, double sink and toilet. The washing machine and dryer are also located in this room.

When you go up the stairs you enter an open space with possibly a sleeping possibility for 1 extra person. There are also 3 bedrooms, each with a double bed and a wardrobe. Two rooms are connected by a door.

Outside you can sit in several places in the garden, on the small terrace with wood stove in the shade of the large chestnut tree with great views of the hills and the Alps or on a lounger on the raised terrace at the house.

The Langhe region is known for its good wines, white truffles, hazelnuts and good authentic cuisine. The hazelnut orchards can be seen directly from the house. The famous vineyards of Barolo and La Morra are 20km away, here you have fantastic views over the hills with vineyards which belong to the Unesco World Heritage Site.

In autumn, truffles are sought everywhere, especially the white truffle is unique to this area. In the city of Alba, a truffle festival takes place every autumn, which lasts for several weeks. In every village or town there are good restaurants that offer Piedmontese dishes at a favorable price, often made by the owner himself.

In short: A cozy house with spacious private grounds with a piece of forest. There are several seating areas, some (semi) covered, some completely free. All this in a hilly area with beautiful views that has remained authentic and where the people are very friendly.

We are Wouter-Jan and Jenny Kok, we live in Haren. We bought this holiday home in 2019, after we immediately fell in love with the tranquility and the great views from the house. After a number of years of smaller and larger adjustments to the house, we are now ready to let others enjoy this as well. When we are in Niella Belbo during the holidays, we enjoy the many possibilities for trips in the area, such as to the towns of Alba, Asti and Bra or a day at the sea.

Location & area recommendations

Additional information

Turin is 1.5 hours away by car, it is definitely worth looking around here. Turin has many palaces, museums including film, Egyptian and automobile. Turin was the first capital of the united Italy and before that connected to the House of Savoy, giving it a very chic impression.
In the vicinity of Turin there are several large palaces such as Reggia di Venaria, which can be visited. (www.lavenaria.it)
Genoa is about a 1.5 hour drive from our house. Genoa is a real port city with many small alleys and hustle and bustle. Here you see people from all over the world, each with their own shops. In addition to these narrow streets, there are also a number of larger squares with beautiful fountains and a triumphal arch.
In Genoa there is a large aquarium near the harbour. You can also park well around here.
The Langhe is not one of the most famous tourist areas, but the Barolo region with the towns of Barolo, La Morra and Monforte d'Alba are very well known for their wines. The Barolo wine is called the king of wines and the wine of the kings. This area is ideally suited for a walk through the vineyards or a bike ride among the grapes with a drink on one of the many terraces afterwards.
