The location of our house on the south on the edge of a forest area of 2.6 hect. Directly on Lake Maggiore with a rock face on the north side and forest is unique. (In the forests there is a lot of game such as: roe deer, red deer, wild ducks, foxes, badgers, dormice, squirrels etc)
You can therefore stay on our terrace almost all year round because the temperature is a few degrees higher than the surroundings. Our swimming pool is Lake Maggiore, which you can reach via our private entrance to Lake and where you can swim freely at any time of the day.
3 km to the north is the old town of Cannobio with a beautifully landscaped boulevard and many cozy restaurants. 3 km to the south is Cannero Riviera with beautiful boulevard and restaurants.
There are also many opportunities for hiking. For example, the old Roman road from the 13th century over the mountains: 'Strada Romagna'. The start is the stairs diagonally opposite Hotel del Lago. At the top of the stairs you can turn left to Cannero Riviera (approx. 4 km) with beautiful views. Turn right the road leads to Cannobio (approx. 4.5 km).
What is also recommended is a boat trip (from Cannobio) to the Boromeo Islands near Stresa. A lovely boat ride and then a visit to Isola Bella and/or Isola Pescatori with palaces and beautiful gardens.
From Brissago just across the border you can also take a boat trip to Isola Brissago with a unique tropical garden. From there you can sail on to Ascona and Locarno in Switzerland. Internationally known for the jazz festival (Ascona) and the film festival (Locarno).
Verbania is a large cozy town 25 km to the south. There are also large supermarkets such as LIDL and COOP here.
From Carmine it is more than an hour's drive to Como on Lago di Como. Luxury city, beautifully situated
on the lake with beautiful shops and fine restaurants.
It is also only about a 1.5-hour drive from Carmine to the metropolis of Milan.
