Unspoilt nature, a beautiful view over the hills, the foothills of the Apennines, tranquility and lots of space. Comfortable and well-furnished apartments, where you can find everything you need for your stay. You can relax here in the large garden, in the shade of the oak trees, or by the pool, surrounded by fragrant lavender bushes, and walk or cycle through the beautiful nature. Cycling and walking maps are available here. There is also a jeu-de-boule court, which can be illuminated at night, an archery court and a dartboard.
Our Vellaneta estate is located near the cozy medieval town of Cagli, where you can enjoy a delicious cappuccino, a delicious ice cream or an aperitif on one of the beautiful squares, and for your groceries in one of the shops or supermarkets. Every Wednesday you can stroll through the weekly market, where you will not only find a wide range of fresh fruit and vegetables, but also cheese from the shepherds in the area, fresh fish from the fishing port of Fano, and many other local products, not to mention nice clothes and shoes. There are also several restaurants where you can taste traditional regional dishes and wine from one of the many wine regions of the Marches.
Urbino and Gubbio are a short distance away, as is the protected nature reserve Gola del Furlo, while the nearest beach at Fano is more than half an hour by car. In addition to a pebble beach (Sassonia) and a sandy beach (Lido), Fano has a fishing port where fresh fish is delivered daily to the town's numerous fish restaurants. You can also enjoy shopping in the old center.
In the past, farming families lived on Vellaneta who worked the land. The main house dates from 1800, has been family owned for several generations, and we, Alessandro and Jacqueline, had it completely restored a few years ago while retaining the characteristic style and with the most recent (bio-ecological) building techniques. Furthermore, three apartments have been created from the former large hay barn, Aurora, Mezzogiorno and Tramonto: attractively furnished, equipped with every comfort: from dining table and chairs plus sun loungers on your own veranda or terrace, a fully equipped kitchen to your bedroom with walk-in wardrobe. We have been receiving our guests here for over 15 years now, many of whom like to come back to us regularly.
On the ground floor of these apartments is the living area, with dining table and chairs, a sofa, a fully equipped kitchen equipped with a four-burner hob, a "mocca" for Italian coffee and a filter coffee machine, a kettle, a toaster, a large fridge with separate freezer compartment, and a microwave/grill. There is also a bathroom with shower/toilet/bidet and hairdryer.
A spacious, easy staircase leads to the upper floor where there is a bedroom for two people and a spacious walk-in wardrobe. There is also a private veranda with dining table and chairs, sun loungers, a communal laundry room with washing machine, ironing board with iron.
These apartments open onto a large garden where you can relax, and there is a spacious swimming pool (12 x 6 m) with sun shower and sun beds.
There is also a large lounge with fireplace, a piano, a library with books in various languages, cozy seating areas and dining table for cool evenings. It opens onto a large veranda, which offers a beautiful view over the mountains (the foothills of the Apennines), where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset at the end of the day while enjoying a nice glass of wine.
