Simple Italian apartment on the water located near Lake Mezzola (10 km from Lake Como).
Location in a quiet bird breeding area at the end of a cul-de-sac, within walking distance of the center (supermarket, bank, pizzeria, restaurant, station, harbor and beach). Ideal place to relax by the water or in the mountains or just enjoy the charm and dynamics of Lake Como, but not with mass tourism.
Lake Mezzola is located north of Lake Como and is connected to Lake Como near Gera Lario. Our apartment is located on the water (Pozzo di Riva) on the original northern part of Lake Como (Samolaco, {Latin: Summus Lacus -> head of the lake]). due to the deposition of the Adda, the Pian de Spigna was created and the lakes were separated by the Mera.
Our apartment is located in a typical Italian family home. The remaining part of the house is permanently inhabited. We have a living room on the ground floor with a small (very small) simple kitchen. In the living room there are 2 single sofa beds and there is a TV with internet connection. On the upper floor is a bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom with toilet and shower. At the back outside you look out on the water and is a small terrace.
For us, the purchase was a combination of everyone. My wife can dream away in a book by the water near the apartment. I hop like an ibex to the tops of the beautiful mountains and my daughters enjoy the beach and the aquatic life or they take the train to Milan, Bellano, Colico, Bellagio. Lake Como itself is 13km by car from the house. For the very good swimmers, rowers, kayakers it is 8 km from our apartment over the water to Gera Lario.
It is a real Italian village, just nice outside the tourist crowds. The people know each other, help each other and are hospitable.
