Two beautiful villas in Crete for rent. Rethymnon-Axos, Ida Mountains, the UNESCO Geopark Psiloritis. Villa Olga and Villa Yorgos with a wonderful view of Psiloritis, Crete's highest mountain (2456m). The villas are located near Axos, a typical Cretan village with historical center and original water source. The people are very hospitable and Axos has 7 Byzantine churches that are over 1000 years old. In the immediate vicinity are the authentic villages of Livadia, Zoniana, Kalyvos and Diskouri Monastery.

Nearby are the caves of Melidoni (Gerontospilos) and Zoniana (Sendoni). Also Knossos / Heraklion is not far away. In the Ida Mountains, you can stroll and enjoy the fantastic nature. Hiking trails, olive groves, shepherds, ancient churches and monasteries more (Vossakos, Arkadi), the famous cuisine and fine wine. Here you will experience the real Crete. In fifteen minutes you can reach Anogia, which is famous for its partisans, wall hangings and the Nida Plateau (birthplace Zeus). Visit the Skinakas Observatory here.

Between the real Cretans. Away from the crowded tourism, you can enjoy peace, beautiful nature and authentic island life. Around both villas you will find owls, bats, swallows and hawks to. Also goats and sheep. And of course, grapes. Restaurants / taverns, shops, medical care (Anogia, Perama) are nearby. Resorts like Panormo and Bali are 35 minutes. Consider also Margarites (pottery), Georioupoli (Kournas freshwater lake), Episkopi (old olive plant) and Eleftherna (Arkadi, archeology).
