Villa Mouria

Welcome to Villa Mouria, our fantastic family villa in Greece! A south facing villa with much more space and privacy inside and outside than usual! A villa with fantastic views of the Ionian sea and mountains, a 10 minute walk from the local beach. And, not unimportantly: a villa with a modest CO2 footprint, thanks to 20 solar panels and a solar water heater. Located in the greenest region of Greece, a region with plenty of culture and nature.

The location: characteristic and romantic
Villa Mouria was designed and built in modern style in 2019 and is located, together with one other villa, on the outskirts of a typical Greek village, At the quiet beach you can sunbathe, swim and snorkel. Two kilometers away you will find a gigantic beach with many water sports and beach bars where you will never get bored. Or would you rather be in and around the private swimming pool (8x4 meters), where you will find an outdoor shower, several terraces and a beautifully landscaped garden of 400 m2, and where children can play and with a bit of luck you can pick some fresh fruit from the tree? In the evening, the garden and swimming pool are illuminated, which gives a magical atmosphere. At the bottom of the garden is an extra terrace under an imposing mulberry tree ("Villa Mouria"!), under which it is good to stay: lemonade in the shade during the day, a cocktail in the evening sun. Also from this terrace you can enjoy the view of the sea and mountains through the olive grove. Or do you find the local shepherd's sheep that often graze in the olive grove more interesting?

The Villa, practical with lots of indoor and outdoor space
The sea-facing villa with several terraces and large garden offers much more space and privacy than usual, for up to 8 people. From the front garden with space for 2 cars you walk up a few steps to the front door. You enter on the intermediate level, with wardrobe, washing machine room and toilet. Via half a staircase you enter the living room, where you are amazed by the phenomenal view of the islands in the Ionian Sea and the mountains on the mainland. The living room has a spacious sitting area, a dining area for 8 people and a very well-equipped open kitchen. Two large sliding doors give access to the terrace, where thanks to the pergola it is also wonderful to play one of the available games or read a book during the day, perhaps from the bookcase. With music from the soundbar under the smart TV, you can create the atmosphere you need.

Sleep: 
Next to the living room you will find the very spacious master bedroom. You can enjoy the same fantastic view from bed, from the private terrace and even from the rain shower! The master bedroom has plenty of closet space, a semi-open bathroom and a separate toilet.

If you go down half a flight of stairs from the front door, you will find two bedrooms with ample storage space, a second bathroom and a separate toilet. There is a spacious bedroom for two people, and an even more spacious bedroom with a double bed and a bunk bed. In each bedroom, a large sliding door not only gives access to a covered terrace, but also a view of the garden, the olive grove behind it, the sea and the mountains in the distance. All double beds are box springs with top quality mattresses.

Enjoy the outdoors
The hallway on the lower floor gives access to the large outdoor kitchen, where you will find a second fridge, a barbecue and a second dining table. At any time of the day you can choose sun or shade. Three steps down you will find the swimming pool, where water toys, teak sunbeds, poufs and a spacious lounge set ensure a wonderful stay for young and old. Lazed out? For the more active, there are several beautiful walks and mountain bike tours to be made directly from the house, and for culture lovers there is a lot to see in the slightly wider area. Tennis court and water sports in the vicinity. We are happy to advise you!

Atmosphere and food and drink
In the village itself you can eat and drink in the friendly atmosphere of authentic bars and restaurants, where the owner recognizes you after a few days. The supermarket is less than 300 m away. Just under 10 minutes by car you will find the port city of Paleros with a marina, a yacht club, a tennis club, rental of boats, bicycles, scooters and cars and various shops/supermarkets. The area around the harbor, where you will find a large number of coffee shops, restaurants and bars, is a wonderful place to stroll around and become part of Greek life.

About 30 minutes by car you will find Lefkada and Preveza, where you will not only find more beautiful beaches but also a lot of ancient culture and Aktion Airport. We are far from tired in the region around Pogonia!
