The self-catering holiday home is situated in the rural village of Ilketshall St. Margaret, Suffolk. It is only a 1,5 hours drive from the ferry in Harwich. There is a bedroom with one double bed (toddler bed available if needed), bathroom with bath and shower, well equipped kitchen cum sitting/dining room with a.o. a dishwasher and washing machine. There is ample parking space at the front of the house. We are in the lovely Waveney Valley, on the border of Suffolk and Norfolk. There are many rural walks possible from the village, using public footpaths through fields and meadows. It is a quiet village with mainly agricultural traffic. There is no pub in the village, but St. Peter’s Brewery is only a mile away. It is open for lunches, they do brewery tours and there is a shop. The historic market town of Bungay is only 2 miles away. There is a good variety of shops there, including various places to eat out or get a take away meal, several pubs, several nice tearooms, a post-office and a big Co-op supermarket. The seaside village of Southwold with its pier and lovely sandy beaches is just approx. 25 minutes driving with usually no traffic jams, there is ample parking there, while Norwich is only approx. 45 minutes away. There are several lovely market towns close by, a.o. Beccles, Halesworth and Harleston, all within 20 minutes driving.
We, Ton and Fiene, emigrated to England a few years ago. We have been going to England for almost 30 years every summer vacation and were always thinking about living there someday. In 2015 we made the decision and moved in 2016, together with cat Jodie. The house was quite a project, the heavily overgrown garden even more! This was first taken care of, then some rebuilding in the house. The house is now as good as finished, the holiday home completed and the garden is 'under construction'.

Some of our hosts have not yet received any, or only a few, reviews from renters who booked via Micazu. To still provide you with sufficient information about the accommodation, they have the option to have a few reviews written by renters who have previously stayed in the accommodation but booked their stay via another channel. These submitted reviews are monitored by us. Do you doubt whether a review meets our guidelines? Then you can report it here.
