We have made the interior as we always expect on our holidays but never actually got. Here you get out of bed rested in the morning and you have enough space to enjoy your holiday. The peace and coziness that the house exudes makes you come home with pleasure.
We, Gertina and Arjen, have been enjoying our holiday home since 2012 together with our sons Gjalt and Tjalle. From the beginning we feel at home in Wieda on the south side of the Harz where people label themselves as Europeans.
The house is located at the back against the woods and has sun all day. You can walk up the walking routes that we don't get bored of after years.
There is a lot to do in the Harz at any time of the year. From museums, steam trains and small animal parks to hiking and cycling in the mountains. With the help of the available hiking maps you will come to the most beautiful places of the Harz that you can keep track of in your walking pass by means of stamping posts.
In winter you can enjoy skiing, snowboarding and cross-country skiing in the area. For the little ones there are nice toboggan runs. If the weather is bad, skating in the hall in Braunlage is recommended.
In the summer you can enjoy the edge of the mountain pool in Zorge. After a cooling dip at home, turning on the Weber BBQ completes the day.
In autumn you can enjoy the beautiful colors of the trees that are sometimes reminiscent of an Indian Summer. It is then wonderful to walk in the Harz.
Take a look at our photos and full description of the holiday home and get into a real holiday mood.
Below the photos you will find a calendar where you can click on the desired arrival date and the departure date. Fill in the reservation form and send it to us.
We will contact you as soon as possible!

The Harz is a secret jewel in the middle of Germany. For many years known as an important holiday destination just a short distance from Berlin. In the Harz Mountains you will find hidden mountain villages and romantic towns with their half-timbered houses. Castles and old mines are waiting to be discovered. The cities of Goslar and Quedlinburg are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
With so much to see and do, the Harz Mountains are the ideal holiday destination. Discover the area by car, bike or on foot. Most cities are accessible by excellent public transport.
"The name Harz is derived from the High German word Hardt which means mountain-forest"
The Harz Mountains rise from the North German plain with an area of 100 by 30 km. it spreads across three states; Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia and Lower Saxony. The landscape of the Harz consists of mountains, deep valleys with rich forests, mysterious caves, clear mountain lakes and waterfalls.
Historically, the Harz has never lost its status as a national holiday destination. From 1952 until reunification, the region was divided between West and East Germany. It was a political holiday camp on both sides of the Iron Curtain. Now you can take a trip along what was once the border, that which is now part of the Grüne Band Deutschland. There are many interesting tours to be made in the Harz National Park, the Brocken with its 1142m is the highest point in the region. The Harz is said to be the location of the many lost art treasures that were stolen during World War II, including the lost orange room from Russia. So who knows what you will discover..
The Harz has a rich variety of cultural events and classical concerts. Some of the productions are performed in the open air in natural amphitheaters, or deep in the caves.
Winter sport
The Harz gets a new look as soon as the first snow falls. There are fantastic opportunities for Alpine skiing, the slopes are suitable for beginner skiers and advanced skiers. More than 500 kilometers of groomed cross-country ski trails are at your disposal, not to mention a large number of toboggan runs. The slopes are not as crowded, and the lifts are affordable. It is a great place to introduce children to all facets of winter sports.
Don't forget the romantic German Christmas markets that are held in all the cities of the Harz Mountains.
Sport
Plenty of opportunities for hiking, cycling and skiing (alpine and cross-country skiing), golf, sailing, fishing, diving.
