Hochwald-Chalet

Our Ferienhaus Hochwald is a modern holiday home with multiple accommodations and is beautifully situated in picturesque Bad Sachsa. It offers a detached chalet with private garden, a 2 pers. en-suite room and two 2-pers. apartments including this beautiful apartment "Dietrich". All accommodations will become available for rent during the year and can be booked together or separately. Apartment Diettrich is already available from now on.

This apartment has an open kitchen, a modern living room with balcony and a spacious bedroom with adjoining bathroom. It offers a great view over the large park-like garden.

Bad Sachsa is a holiday resort on the sunny south side of Harz mountains. The Harz and Bad Sachsa are a paradise for hikers, mountain bikers and motorcyclists alike. Various hiking and mountain bike trails literally start in our backyard.

Before "the iron curtain" was lifted, Bad Sachsa was the last resort in West Germany. Here you'll still find the silent witnesses of that era such as the watchtowers of the VoPos (Volkspolizei DDR) in the landscape. Strolling or walking along and over the former minefields is a special experience. This chapter in history is also presented in the permanent exhibition of the Grenzlandmuseum Bad Sachsa.

If you like to relax from the outdoor activities, various restaurants and bars in the village will welcome you. Besides culinairy acytivities, the village offers plenty of sportier activities. Within a 10-minute walk through the woods, Salztal Paradies offers the year round indoor ice rink. Next to the ice rink you'll find a sport swimming pool, a fun familypool, a sauna and wellness area and, "Regenbogenland" an indoor children's playground. A family restaurant tops it all of. 

Within a 5-minute walk, in the park at the Smeltzteig, the free open-air gym awaits you. The park offers a canoe pond, a miniature golf course and the opportunity to skim over the water, hanging from the cable car. Those who want even more action should try "Ravensberg Basecamp",  the new climbing hall nearly at the bottom of our street, exciting and safe at the same time. There is no such thing as getting bored in Bad Sachsa.

In addition to what can be done within walking distance, the Harz as a whole is extremely versatile. Within 60 car minutes, you'll find beautifull cities als Duderstadt, Nordhausen, Goslar, Göttingen, Wernigerode en Quedlinburg all with their timber framed buildings.
Do not forget to make a trip through the Harz mountains bei steam engine of the Harzersmallspurbahn, a wonderful experience for everyone.

If you'd rather explore the Harz area under your own steam by a route walk or bike ride; we will pick you up, at your finish point, with or without bicycle.
